Historia
Lord Elliott Mayfield sees the new generation of his family moving in the same direction of bad matches and scandalous relationships as the last. In hopes to change their course, he establishes a "marriage campaign" to motivate them to improve themselves through making respectable matches. Peter, Elliott's eldest nephew, thinks the entire idea is ridiculous. A widower with two young daughters, he simply needs a governess, not a wife. Julia Hollingsworth has the credentials and the experience, but is too young and pretty for such a job. So why can't he stop thinking about her?

Good story that could have been great if…….
Revisado: 10-26-24
I really enjoy Sarah Eden’s stories. There are so many beautiful and meaningful, well written scenes in them. I just long to read an expression of faith in God instead of her characters acting as though God does not exist. That is not how we should live. Her stories lose their potential for uplifting and being as satisfying as they could be if the her characters actually acknowledged God and even turned to him. One line in the book talked about what they should have faith in and the answer was everything but God. Lynne Austin and Rosanna White effectively give their characters faith in God and they act as children of God. They are very open about their belief in a God. I think Sarah Eden’s books would be much more believable and worthwhile if her characters had faith in God and it was a part of their stories like it is for each of us in our personal lives.

Love the book. Well written, fantastic message of honor, loyalty love in the face of hardship death and destruction. Love the historical setting. Only
Only suggestion is that the female reader was the better reader between her and the male reader. Would’ve enjoyed the book more if it just had the female reader.

Historia
New York, 1898. The only thing more shocking than Arthur Stanhope III’s unexpected death is the revelation that his will bestows his company—and most of the vast fortune that goes with it—to the nearest male heir, leaving his mother, wife, and daughter nearly impoverished. His widow, Sylvia, quickly realizes she must set aside her grief to ensure their daughter, Adelaide, is launched into society as soon as the appropriate mourning period passes.

Another great book from Lynn Austin
Revisado: 05-02-24
Lynn Austin does it again! We loved her characterizations in this book and the storyline. Tragic things happen in the story but they are resolved in meaningful ways. We especially loved the grandma. She is the catalyst for all the change and everyone’s lives that makes them better. It is meaningful that the characters realize the importance of divine guidance and intervention in their lives. Love Austin’s. She’s not afraid of having her characters looked too God for guidance and having the guidance be significant part of their lives. We also loved the way she weaved the three stories of the three women throughout the book. We would love a couple of sequels to this book! Keep going, Lynn! We didn’t want the story to end and would have loved an epilogue.

A masterpiece of a book!
Revisado: 04-19-24
We loved the book the most once we knew the full story between the two main characters. Once we knew their story, it all became incredibly meaningful. The loss of a baby is overwhelming to the parents, but the authors portrayal of how they worked it out deep and incredibly thoughtful. We love her expressions of faith and trust in God. She paints a beautiful picture of the necessity of forgiveness, understanding, and trust. This book is a masterpiece. We just love all of Rosanna White’s books. She is the superior author!
