Historia
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Historia
Max Robichaux’s thrilling adventures didn’t begin on 21 January 2315 when he took command of the USS Cumberland at the age of 28. Before that date, Max became an expert on battle tactics, the psychology of command and leadership, the customs and fighting techniques of the mysterious and powerful Vaaach race, and more. In June 2304, the 16-year-old green Ensign Max Robichaux is given a small but fast and stealthy ship to penetrate enemy space, observe a mock attack on a new kind of enemy battle station, and return with information on the station, enemy weapons, enemy tactics, and other valuable intelligence.

Very entertaining story, Great use of logical, but outside the box thinking.

I really enjoyed the author's " turns of phrase" and the way he uses the language to convey thoughts. Very refreshing. Mr. Honsinger is one of my favorite yarn spinners.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Historia
Serving as a powerful follow-up to Jordan Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life, Dr. Gad Saad unpacks what is really happening in progressive safe zones, why we need to be paying more attention to these trends, and what we must do to stop the spread of dangerous thinking. A professor at Concordia University who has witnessed this troubling epidemic firsthand, Dr. Saad dissects a multitude of these concerning forces (corrupt thought patterns, belief systems, attitudes, etc.) that have given rise to a stifling political correctness in our society.

What a relief to hear someone not afraid to speak the truth and who is encouraging others to do so. This book should be on the reading list for every school, as early as students can comprehend it.

The bloody Battle of Tippecanoe was only the beginning. It’s 1811, and President James Madison has ordered the destruction of Shawnee warrior Chief Tecumseh’s alliance of tribes in the Great Lakes region. But while General William Henry Harrison would win this fight, the armed conflict between Native Americans and the newly formed United States would rage on for decades.

Revisado: 11-12-20
A very interesting, angering and saddening review of the absolutely appalling treatment of native Americans by the U.S. government and settlers. Although atrocities appeared rampant by both sides, one could have wished for a more reasonable and higher-minded response by authorities. WHAT a tragedy! I wonder if we learned anything as a people.
Thank you to O’Reilly and Dugard for opening my eyes. Narration, by Petkoff and O’Reilly, was excellent!!

Historia
The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

Not All There
Revisado: 07-17-19
The editing of this book was atrocious. The book is a jumble of incomplete, disjointed thoughts and unfinished sentences. It is extremely difficult to follow. I would be uncomfortable, if not downright ashamed, to offer this book for a public reading. It sounded as if the narrator did not pre-read the book and had no idea of the meanings of the many of the words he was using. The "science" behind the book is not. The author needs to explain things much more clearly and provide cogent descriptions of the ideas.

The MOST fun I've had listening to a space story.
Revisado: 07-10-14
What did you love best about To Honor You Call Us?
I really liked the characters in the story. The Captain of the Cumberland is a no-nonsense warrior who has a heart but good common sense and is an uncannily crafty tactician. The physician is very well-written and provides an excellent counterpoint to the captain. I am also very fond of the Task Force Admiral, a scurrilous curmudgeon.
What was one of the most memorable moments of To Honor You Call Us?
I laughed heartily at the Admiral's diatribe in this first book of the two. As a former naval officer, I can absolutely identify with the speech and the situation under which it was delivered.
What about Ray Chase’s performance did you like?
The narration was OUTSTANDING! Mr. Chase definitely has a knack for bringing the characters to life. I thoroughly enjoyed his gruff-voiced Robicheau and his portrayal of the admiral. BZ!
Any additional comments?
One other thing - The author's inclusion of several references to other sci-fi and fantasy works was very pleasing to me. I derived a great deal of pleasure from the fact that someone was as fond of those works as I.
