Historia
An enforcer wanted dead for crimes she didn’t commit.... An assassin wanted dead for crimes he did commit.... Normally, they would be enemies, but they both seek the same thing: exoneration. Unfortunately, a nefarious underground organization is attempting to kill the one man who could grant it to them - the emperor. If they want to win their freedom, they’ll have to battle powerful wizards, outscheme master schemers, and defeat bloodthirsty monsters, all while dodging friendly fire and evading the law. Exoneration isn’t easy.

Why?
Revisado: 05-06-25
I feel this story had very weak motives for all the trouble they cause. It would’ve been a stronger story if the female lead character was a secondary character. I still listened to all 7 books in the series.

It kept me guessing!
Revisado: 07-23-20
I loved Saskia Maarleveld’s voice. She did an excellent job with her different accents!
This story had me captivated and listening late into the night. As a mom of young children, it’s been years since I was more interested in the well-being of characters in a book than sleep. Thanks for an incredible story.

Historia
Lady Elyssa despises her echoes - the creatures who look just like her and copy her every move. But it’s only the echoes that mark her as a high noble, someone elite enough to marry the king’s youngest son, Jordan. She can’t get rid of the echoes, so instead she amuses herself by torturing them when no one is looking. But there’s something Elyssa doesn’t know: Her casual cruelty has brought one of the echoes to life. And this echo, Hope, is learning to think and speak and act on her own.

Why? Scratching my head with so many questions.
Revisado: 06-17-20
I stumbled upon this series thanks to Audible Originals. I was charmed by the series, even though it seemed a bit high school romance for me. There was a lot of oh-my-god-he-looked-at-me-I-must-melt. I appreciated the kingdom of the seven jewels. I really liked the level headedness of the king and princes. I thought each main character was well developed enough to care about their wellbeing. I enjoyed how everything happened “after the meal” in all three books.
I am left with questions though (spoiler alert):
1. Why isn’t this one book? This could have been one book written from three different perspectives. I feel like I just listened to the same story three different times from three minor players viewpoints.
2. Why don’t we ever hear from Margaret, her maid, the junior inquisitor, the king’s step daughter, or anyone else from the first two books ever again?
3. Was the whole point of all these books was for Jordon to get engaged to an echo? Why are we continuely left in limbo? You couldn’t have added another couple of chapters tying up loose ends? The kingdom celebrating the marriage of Hope and Jordon, they have many heirs, and at some point get to end the farce of Alyssa. Cormick, the king, the maid, the step-daughter, the daughter and the kingdom find peace, prosperity, and moderate happiness in their lives. The End.
4. If Hope could feel Alyssa’s thoughts, moods, and vicarious pleasures, Why couldn’t Alyssa feel Hope doing all the things?
So many questions.

Maybe that’s how it was?
Revisado: 10-05-19
I enjoyed the story about how some seemingly strong women dealt with loss during WW2. These woman struck out on their own, put themselves in harm’s way for the sake of moral and served donuts.
It seemed off to me these women, who by all accounts lived rather independent lives, would just want to wear pretty things to pick up man in the middle of a war zone! I’ve seen plenty of pictures of bombed out buildings, concentration camps, and other war time atrocities. If these ladies were truly “powdering their noses” on the frontlines for the soldiers, why would they be serving donuts?

Nice to see you, PeeKay!
Revisado: 05-13-19
I loved the Power of One! It read it when I was in my early teens. I’ve held on to many of the positive messages from the book over the years. I was enamored with most of the characters.
I never knew about Tandia. Someone recommended it to me. I immediately went on a search for it on Audible. After listening to the entire story, I felt like I was visiting a few old friends. I kept waiting for Tandia to meet PeeKay. I missed Doc’s wisdom. PeeKay seemed a bit lost without it. I enjoy meeting a couple new characters. The ending left me rather frustrated. I’m not into spoilers, so I won’t elaborate.

Great Book!
Revisado: 11-10-18
I really loved everything about this story! It was wonderful to hear a different viewpoint on God, peace, pleasure, grace, and prayer. It was so refreshing for me as these are things I am searching for/through in my own life.
The only drawback was sometimes it was hard to hear at times even though my volume was all the way up. Elizabeth Gilbert has a beautiful silky voice. It added to the performance. 😁
