Historia
In this pulse-pounding thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Nanny, a group of women travel to the most remote place in England for a weekend escape, only to discover a startling note that one of their husbands will be killed before they return home. Perfect for fans of Ruth Ware and Lucy Foley.

Ugh, that narrator
Revisado: 06-13-22
Do yourself a favor, skip it. Read the book if you are interested in this plot. I believe this could have been a good book with a different narrator. Unfortunately, her voices for all the characters sounded almost all the same. Regrettably, I stayed with the book and finished it. I wished I had just traded it back in and selected something different instead.

Historia
The perfume-scented letter that turns Tommie McCloud’s world upside down arrives from a stranger only days after her father’s death. The woman who wrote it claims that Tommie is her daughter—and that she was kidnapped as a baby thirty-one years ago. Tommie wants to believe it’s all a hoax, but suddenly a girl who grew up on a Texas ranch finds herself inextricably linked to a horrific past: the slaughter of a family in Chicago, the murder of an Oklahoma beauty queen, and the kidnapping of a little girl named Adriana.

Historia
It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.

You won’t regret the purchase of this one!
Revisado: 03-20-22
This book was worth the credit and the time to listen to it. I enjoyed every moment from the opening of it in the sample to the closing with the rights reserved. I am grateful for the cadence of the narrators’ and their more genuine sounding Texas accents. The author, Julia Heaberlin’s, descriptive words easily paints a picture to get lost in for hours. Pausing this book was hard when I had to take care of daily life that wouldn’t permit me the free time to listen to this story. It was worth the hours missed of sleep to just listen thirty more minutes again and again. I won’t give away details of this book, but I will say I’m a fan! I was sad for this story to come to a close but I appreciated the author’s manner in which she brought closure to this novel. I feel like I’m in the attic sifting through pictures of my old friends from school having enjoyed our time together, but the real world is calling and I must answer. So back to the boxes the pictures of these characters go stored away but not forgotten.

Revisado: 02-08-21
Lots of mystery in this novel which feels like three stories in one that perfectly comes together in a neat little package at the end. I loved it and I’m sad I’ve finished this book. I would highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Historia
Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Surêté du Québec and his team of investigators are called in to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal. Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines, just north of the U.S. border, has been found dead in the woods. The locals are certain it’s a tragic hunting accident and nothing more, but Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods, and is soon certain that Jane Neal died at the hands of someone much more sinister than a careless bowhunter.

This story is only read with one voice regardless of all the characters
Revisado: 12-10-20
I thought I would like this book. And I think I really would have enjoyed it if someone else narrated it. To be honest I had to delisted countless times to different segments. It became a beating relistening and having to pay that much attention all due to the painful narration. I found the narrators voice pleasant, but he did the same voice for ALL the characters. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by other narrators but I found the lack of additional voices to be problematic. I did enjoy the story line, and as stated, the narrators voice. I don’t believe this will be a novel that will stick with me though which is unfortunate.

Do NOT skip this one!
Revisado: 11-22-20
I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I do NOT recommend listening to it at night like I did, unless you want to be stressed enough not to return to sleep. I am now tired today, and I’m sad the book came to a close. I had no idea how these women were going to make their way out of their situations and I loved not being able to correctly guess the outcome. I have already recommended this title to my mom and bestie. So now I’m recommending it to y’all.

Historia
Beth Montgomery seems to have the perfect life: a beautiful house in the hills above Los Angeles, a handsome, ambitious husband, and plans of starting a family. So it doesn't occur to her to worry when the news breaks of a quadruple homicide across town, a botched drug deal that leaves an undercover officer among the dead. Beth certainly would never think to tie the murders to the sudden reappearance in her life of wild, sexy Cassie Ogilvy, the estranged best friend she hasn't seen since they were college roommates.

Worth it just for the ending
Revisado: 10-04-20
I didn’t love this book in the beginning. I thought about swapping it even up until only an hour remained. Man, am I glad I didn’t return it. That’s where the juice of the story is, is in that last hour. I would recommend this book to anyone I know who likes suspense novels. I love guessing at thriller novels and being wrong, especially because it happens so rarely. I guessed wrong on this ending. Enjoy!!!

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

I found myself trying to find alone time from my family to finish this book. I was close to finishing it but I got scared and had to shut it off. This one has lots of possibilities for the killer and was quite enjoyable to listen to. The narrators did a fantastic job. I thoroughly loved everything about this book.
