Kind of disappointing and anticlimactic ending, it felt kind of rushed and the last two books seemed to be filled with a lot of filler material that was kind of pointless.

Historia
The Catholic Faith was formed by many things including most importantly scripture and tradition. But it was the General Councils of the Catholic Church which defined and shaped these beliefs into a tangible and understandable system of belief. Complex in their histories, they can be summarized to present the most important points of these grand moments in faith history. This audiobook gives you an overview and insight into a subject otherwise only understood through lengthy study.

Not Good
Revisado: 01-11-25
It’s definitely an overview, and not a good one at that. The chapters are not well written and are set up in an odd order that doesn’t help comprehension. It assumes you know a decent amount of church history beforehand so it doesn’t explain things well and leaves out important details.
The absolute worst part about this is the narrator. I thought it was a poorly constructed AI reading but apparently it’s an actual person. The mispronunciations and lack of punctuation recognition is atrocious. I only made it through three quarters of the book before finally giving having to quit. “Pope Innocent the two” was one of the nails in the coffin.
Overall just don’t bother.

Historia
Minalan the Spellmonger has come a long way since he woke up to a goblin invasion almost a decade ago. Since then, he has built cities and mighty armies, invented new enchantments, and pioneered entirely new fields of magic. Now that the Witch Queen of Darkfaller has taken over one of the most powerful castles in the center of the kingdom, he has to marshal all his resources—political, military, and arcane—to try to drive her from the strategic and symbolically important stronghold.

Yes
Revisado: 01-31-24
Another great one from Terry Mancour, he did not disappoint. It was nice to get back to the story from Min’s perspective, a little of the others is nice but getting back to a lot of the hero of the story is what we’re all looking for, and that book does just that. My only criticism is that there are a lot of portions and side story’s that are kind of just rushed through, such as the experiences with the Dukes and their training, not much time is given on the details other than that it happens and then gives the broad strokes.
As always John Lee did a superb job narrating. Definitely does the best of any I’ve ever heard, keep it up.
Can’t wait for the next one. 10/10

Historia
It's been a year since Eragon departed Alagaësia in search of the perfect home to train a new generation of Dragon Riders. Now, he is struggling with an endless sea of tasks: constructing a vast dragonhold, wrangling with suppliers, guarding dragon eggs, and dealing with belligerent Urgals and haughty elves. Then a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors, and an exciting Urgal legend offer a much-needed distraction and a new perspective. This volume features three original stories set in Alagaësia, interspersed with scenes from Eragon's own unfolding adventure.

Meh
Revisado: 01-02-24
Having gone through it a second time it isn’t as bad. I’m not a huge fan of anthologies but it is what it is. The Murtagh story is alright, and I appreciate the in-between returns to Eragon more than anything.
That being said I’ve always found the character of Angela annoying. Her story is wordy and doesn’t add much. You don’t get any of her background still, and even if you did her personality just cringy.
As for the last story it was way too long and took up more time and space than it probably should have.
I didn’t care that the narrator deviated from his established voices, he could have at least went back and listened to what he had done before, especially on Saphira & Glaedr. It just seemed like an unnecessary oversight.
Overall it was an ok return to the world of Alagaesia. But probably could have gone without it, other than the information about Eragon in the story it didn’t add much.

And now the wait
Revisado: 12-02-23
Much better than the previous book. It’s interesting to see how much the TV show went away from what happens in the books and how much they created after the book ends. Now we just have to hope that GRRM gets it together and actually finishes the series or this will be more disappointing than that farce of an ending someone wrote for the TV show. Here’s to GRRM not screwing up 🤞.

Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

All The Characters You Don’t Care About
Revisado: 11-11-23
I’ve got to say, I’ve enjoyed the first three books but this one was rough. It felt like more of a filler book than anything, like GRRM was just trying to get something out there and fill some pages. Some of the most important characters from the last books are either only in it for a short period from another’s perspective, or just ignored and left out outright. I’m fine with getting the perspective of other characters but when you’re just throwing so many random characters in it gets annoying.
As for the performance? The reader completely changed how names are pronounce of some characters and then completely changes how he voices them. I’m not sure how long between this performance and the last one there was but at least put the effort into going back and reviewing what you’ve done previously. It’s just sloppy.
Here to hoping that the next one isn’t as bad.

Historia
Theologian and reformer John Wycliffe never had the opportunity to take his doctrines outside of his native England, but he could never have imagined that his teachings would one day travel as far as 920 miles east to Bohemia. In fact, while his contentious convictions aroused much ado at home, receiving both praise and contempt from followers and ecclesiastical figures, his messages would be far more resonant across the Channel than they ever were back home.

Good, But..
Revisado: 12-27-22
I understand it was an in between to hold us over for the next book but I think it would probably be better to just wait a little longer and have it all in the same book. Kind of unnecessary and confusing to have it as a stand alone since it overlaps so much with the next one. Because it’s a stand alone it kind of takes away from the next book. I saved this one until after I read Marshal Arcane and I’m kind of glad I did. It would have ruined a lot of the good surprises in it, but I’m not reading it you noticed the large gaps that should have been in it that were instead in here.
