Historia
This is the story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world - and did. Is he a destroyer or a liberator? Why does he fight his hardest battle not against his enemies, but against the woman he loves? Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is Ayn Rand's magnum opus and launched an ideology and a movement. With the publication of this work in 1957, Rand gained an instant following and became a phenomenon.

Historia
By the time he was 27 years old, Kwame Onwuachi had opened - and closed - one of the most talked-about restaurants in America. He had launched his own catering company with $20,000 that he made from selling candy on the subway, yet he’d been told he would never make it on television because his cooking wasn’t “Southern” enough. In this inspiring memoir about the intersection of race, fame, and food, he shares the remarkable story of his culinary coming-of-age.

Amazing story, amazing story teller
Revisado: 12-14-21
I am a fellow chef and restaurant owner, with no formal training and white. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of coming up surrounded by amazingly authentic, passionate and extremely talented people of color who have contributed greatly to who I am today. This story is a beautiful representation of all these qualities. It made me cry, made me laugh and is a sincere invitation to understand. I hope there will be a sequel.

Needs a christianity trigger warning
Revisado: 02-15-21
I appreciate all the information, education and honesty of this book. I learned a lot. I also had to work thru unexpected triggers around christianity, not realizing this book was based in that faith.

So good, and Matt Cowlrick makes it stellar. I’ll miss these characters very much. Especially the dialogue between Charlie and Jeffery. Thank you.

Historia
Lyra is rushing to the cold, far North, where witch clans and armored bears rule. North, where the Gobblers take the children they steal—including her friend Roger. North, where her fearsome uncle Asriel is trying to build a bridge to a parallel world. Can one small girl make a difference in such great and terrible endeavors? This is Lyra: a savage, a schemer, a liar, and as fierce and true a champion as Roger or Asriel could want. But what Lyra doesn't know is that to help one of them will be to betray the other.
