Historia
A year has passed since I raised a city of solid stone from the ground using the an ancient and powerful artifact. The city has thrived under my rule, aided by my queens, with a strong economy and hopeful souls arriving daily, seeking refuge and a fresh start. But grudges die hard. King Arandal, ever the spiteful one, has finally come to exact his vengeance. His soldiers swarm around my city walls like a plague of locusts and outnumber the stars. Assassins crept through the streets at night, their daggers thirsting for my blood and that of my queens.

Historia
My life wasn't that exciting; a degree in engineering, a small flat in London, and an ex-girlfriend who still texted me when she was drunk. Every day was a bore. Everything changed when I found myself in Lanercost, a small medieval village, with no idea of how I arrived. The locals seemed friendly, and a chance encounter introduced me to several breathtakingly beautiful women. I decided to make the best of it. Armed with only a solid education, my wit, and the five pennies in my pocket, I decided to build a life here. No, not just a life; a House that would last for generations.

Worth the listen. A well structured story with good character building, world building, foreshadowing, suspense, sex, and war. I couldn't wait until the next time I drove to listen to more! I will be buying the rest of the books by this author!

Historia
This is a self help-book like no other. Because you are not helping yourself, James Acaster is helping you. When James quit all forms of social media in 2019 he felt like he'd been born anew, but he was worried he'd suffer withdrawal and get lured back online to compete in a never ending popularity contest with only one possible winner (f--king Zuckerberg). He knew that in order to stay clean he'd have to replace everything social media used to give him with three-dimensional real-life activities.

Terrible...a rare misstep from James
Revisado: 09-24-23
I couldn't finish this book. It's awful. Possibly one of the worst audio books I've listened to. It is clearly made up nonsense. The "story" is all over the place and completely implausible. This is very out of character for James. I normally love James and his comedy....but this book is just a random mess. I'd say you can safely skip this book and you'll miss nothing at all.

Emotional and powerful
Revisado: 06-15-23
I love Fern in everything I've seen her on. She's funny and incredibly intelligent and observant! it was sad to hear her story and all the pain and anguish she's been through. I'm glad she's found a therapist who can actually help and I wish her the best. I look forward to hearing her next book, and the one after that, and the stand up, and the TV shows. Keep it up Fern....we love you!!!

Some chapters a bit dry
Revisado: 03-15-21
Some chapters are just listings of burger joints, when they opened and how big they got before closing. I skipped over those. The actual story chapters are decent and informative.

Historia
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

Bit hard to follow
Revisado: 04-24-19
The story is a bit all over the place and a bit anticlimactic. This could be because it's Pratchett is a co-author. But generally okay.
I don't know if something happened, but this book crashed my Audible app a lot. Had the app for over a year on the same device. But it kept crashing and once lost my place in the book. No other books have done this.
