A fun but predictable story. A Bermuda Triangle. A motley crew of archetypes uncover its secrets soulless industrialist, corporate soldier, pure scientist, jock, flyboy. It’s hard to see this story gaining traction without adding dimension to the surviving crew. However, I’m locked in because Andersen can tell a good story, even if you’ve heard it before.

I loved identifying the nascent cultures that arose from this world. It was fun to hear Loyal’s: ”too hasty comments” coming from the scholarly Most High.

I loved the way Viva grows in wisdom and stats to understand the real importance of her culture customs. I’m 66 years old. I word have read Vivi and Nancy back on the day.i also like the window into true New Orleans culture

Predictably enjoyable

The last scene was the only twist. From the moment we met the ‘half wizard,’ we knew his ultimate fate. Getting there was an enjoyable ride. I would like to see it through to the end but, I don’t think there is enough there for a trilogy or an ongoing series. He’s a little like Dean Koontz’s Odd Thomas in that his personality is a bit too innocent to credibly sustain multiple encounters with evil and remain unscathed. But this storyline is yet unfinished.

I/We is a good stealer if hearts

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Faith, Hunter created the perfect strong yet normal heroine I enjoyed watching Jane grow throughout the series. Faith, Hunter is great at character development, all of the recurring characters grew and we went along for the journey. But while Jm has earned her rest, Angie, Baby and EJ are shenanigans central and strong enough to have forbidden adventures. I would love an Everheart series that weaves in Alex and Eli. We Ned to se Alex grow into his full potential Molly and the twins also have stories that need to be told. Faith Hunter has created a world and characters that can close Jane’s chapter and begin their own. (Beast will insist on visiting her kits fin time to time.)

Hurt people hurt people

Expressions of depression are poignantly relevant to all cultures. I loved the way he captured how our the world expands from the nuclear family outward as we mature. He also recognizes the inter generational damage caused by mental illness. I really love how he acknowledges that to name a thing is not the same as conquering it. Great author. I look forward to hearing more from him.
