Historia
A mysterious gift, handed to her by a dark and arrogant stranger. Who was he? How did he know so much about her? How did he know her life was crying out for something different? Something...exciting, erotic?

great start but,,,

I felt the title also is misleading. It started out interesting, but as the meetings continued it was bland. There could've been more details to the society's history, rules, and interactions. I lost interest in the main character and her attitudes. She seemed petulant for having to follow the rules, but very transparent in her interest of the one character. boring and dissatisfying ending

Historia
Manolito De La Cruz knew he was dangerously close to turning into a vampire. The last thing he expected after being called back to his Carpathian homeland by Prince Mikhail was to catch the scent of his destined lifemate in MaryAnn Delaney. MaryAnn is human, but she knows all too well the overwhelmingly aggressive instincts of Carpathian males.

not so much

I've heard almost all of the Dark series, and I agree with the above comments. I did enjoy having the two narrators, but thought the posh accent odd, and didn't understand why the 'echo' was used in the telepathic conversations.
I did not like the dialogue, or lack of. So much time is spent with internal dialogue, descriptions of the rain forest, maryann's fashioin choices. I feel that most of the female leads show strength, but maryann's lack of insight is irritating.
For a saucy romance, she's good, but i would suggest, reading the series in order. I realize she has to refer to the other characters for ease of story, but really, a lot is wasted on the catching up for people not in the know
