Historia
Leonardo da Vinci created the two most famous paintings in history, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. But in his own mind, he was just as much a man of science and engineering. With a passion that sometimes became obsessive, he pursued innovative studies of anatomy, fossils, birds, the heart, flying machines, botany, geology, and weaponry.

Mel did an amazing job in narrating her own book. Her energy and the way she described stories engage you so much that the listening becomes a great pleasure.

A very good course.
Revisado: 06-21-15
This is one of the best great courses that I listened to on Audible.com. You do not lose anything in this audio version, versus the video version. The instructor is energetic and fun. The topics are interesting with just the right level of complexities for a non-medical person.

Historia
The Presidents Club was born at Eisenhower’s inauguration when Harry Truman and Herbert Hoover first conceived the idea. Over the years that followed - and to this day - the presidents relied on, misunderstood, sabotaged, and formed alliances with one another that changed history. The world’s most exclusive fraternity is a complicated place: its members are bound forever because they sat in the Oval Office and know its secrets, yet they are immortal rivals for history’s favor.

Great Story Telling From the Authors, Good Listeni
Revisado: 05-23-12
The authors told the stories for the US presidents from Truman all the way till now. This book distilled sixty more years history into slightly over 20 hours, while leaving you some very vivid images of each president. You can see the changes of each former president, and stories are told about the frustration of current presidents with fromer presidents. A great listening!

Based on hundreds of interviews with the people who lived the story, Game Change is a reportorial tour de force that reads like a fast-paced novel. Character driven and dialogue rich, replete with extravagantly detailed scenes, this is the occasion-ally shocking, often hilarious, ultimately definitive account of the campaign of a lifetime.

Historia
Up until now, the Korean War has been the black hole of modern American history. The Coldest Winter changes that. Halberstam gives us a masterful narrative of the political decisions and miscalculations on both sides. He charts the disastrous path that led to the massive entry of Chinese forces near the Yalu, and that caught Douglas MacArthur and his soldiers by surprise. He provides astonishingly vivid and nuanced portraits of all the major figures.

Amazingly good
Revisado: 12-24-07
David Halberstam did a great book before his life ended earlier this year. This book, about Korean war, compiles a lot of stories in parallel, but Mr, Halsterm did a great job to make them fit with each other really well.
The author also provided just enough background information, about China, Russia, North and South Korea, and even Taiwan, to make the big picture more understanable. Of course, the best par tis about the different personalities of various people, such as President Truman and General McArthur.
We could learn a great deal about this specific war from this wonderful book.

Historia
In 1993 Greg Mortenson was the exhausted survivor of a failed attempt to ascend K2, an American climbing bum wandering emaciated and lost through Pakistan's Karakoram Himalaya. After he was taken in and nursed back to health by the people of an impoverished Pakistani village, Mortenson promised to return one day and build them a school. From that rash, earnest promise grew one of the most incredible humanitarian campaigns of our time: Greg Mortenson's one-man mission to counteract extremism by building schools, especially for girls, throughout the breeding ground of the Taliban.

Very good book, with good reading
Revisado: 12-20-07
This book is great, and I am happy that I was not affected by those comments about the reading. The fake accent is not disturbing at all.
I was touched at the second half of the book, when some of the schools were starting to show some impacts. That is what life is about.
This is an extremely encouraging book, and help you to think for the better lives of all the people in the world.

Very good audio book
Revisado: 07-12-07
Even though this one is a sequel to another book that I did not know, it itself is fascinating. The Simple Genius combines the thriller with several levels of conflicts and some interesting introductions to various cyphering themes. Once you strat, it is hard to stop, and the main ending is also very good. The last few chapters became a bit weak, but it does not affect the total satisfaction of the book.

Historia
In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Too simple
Revisado: 03-08-06
This is a book written for the very simple minded person. It talked about two simple criteria: the lowest yield toprice ratio and the highest return on capital. Then just stick to the formula and wait for the much better results than the market. The most useful part of the book is the reminder that most "magic formula" may not work all the time. There will be time, a year or two, that these formula deliver poorer results than the market, but you must have faith to reap the fruits. Some other books, e.g. Rich Dad/Poor Dad, are as simple but offer much more useful advises.
