Historia
When Star Wars burst on to the big screen in 1977, an unfailingly polite golden droid called C-3PO captured imaginations around the globe. But C-3PO wasn’t an amazing display of animatronics with a unique and unforgettable voice-over. Inside the metal costume was an actor named Anthony Daniels. In this deeply personal memoir, Anthony Daniels recounts his experiences of the epic cinematic adventure that has influenced pop culture for more than 40 years. For the very first time, he candidly describes his most intimate memories as the only actor to appear in every Star Wars film.

Fantastic insight from someone who was there
Revisado: 12-26-19
Warm and witty, great anecdotes from behind-the-scenes of all the Star Wars films. I'm sure it's great as a paper book or e-book, but you can't beat the audio version... you get that iconic 3PO voice talking to you for hours!

A highly recommended, emotionally complex story
Revisado: 12-07-19
The description of the book above reveals an important part of the plot, so it's not a spoiler for me to say the subject matter involves a school shooting. It would be so easy for an author to write a BAD novel about a school shooting tragedy. A bad novel would be filled with stereotyped characters, melodramatic scenes, and most of all would be written primarily to push a certain agenda.
Thank goodness, author Jamila Mikhail has not written us the bad version of the story here, she's written us an EXCEPTIONALLY good novel instead. Her characters are quirky, unique, and entirely believable. The situations they describe as the story unfolds are realistic, serious, and at times heartbreaking. And much to the author's credit, the book does not trivialize the events by just using them to try to force ANY political agenda down our throats.
Mikhail, through her relatable 18-year-old female protagonist, gives us a very complex story of a young woman in the present trying to cope with the aftermath of a tragedy, and weaves in flashbacks that gradually reveal the events that transpired on the fateful day, and detail her friendship with the young man who would go on to commit the crimes. Just like real life, the emotions the main character has are a complex mix of sadness, grief, anger, fear, love, friendship, and guilt. The powerful story leaves the reader feeling a lot of the same ways.
If you're looking for a great novel that challenges both your head and your heart, give this book a read or listen. You won't be disappointed.

Historia
In The Labyrinth of Time, Anthony Peake explores the relationship between consciousness and reality, and in the process puts forward an amazing hypothesis that can explain many enigmatic phenomena, including déjà vu, precognition, near-death experience, and altered states. It features a cutting-edge account of modern time theory covering time slips, precognitive dreams, and the elasticity of time during moments of extreme stress, near-death experience, and certain stages of hypnotic trance.

Fantastic and Fascinating
Revisado: 10-15-19
This book is an excellent continuation of the ideas Anthony Peake first shared with the world in his book "Is There Life After Death?: The Extraordinary Science of What Happens when We Die." That book is also available on Audible, and if you haven't either read or listened to that book yet, I recommend you listen to that one first. That book will change your way of thinking, and then once you've digested that work, buy this book and give it a listen. This is a great companion book, and gets even deeper into the questions and philosophies about the nature of TIME than the first book. I can't recommend this book highly enough. The concepts in it will expand your viewpoint, and having the author read it himself in this audio version adds another layer to it. I have most of his books in paper copies, but I'm really I'm hoping Mr. Peake will continue releasing each of his books in audio format. If he does, I will listen to them all -- and you should too!

Historia
Corrigan Bain was retired. It wasn’t something he ever thought he’d be able to do. The problem was that the job he wanted to retire from wasn’t actually a job at all: Nobody paid him to do it, and nobody else did it. With very few exceptions, nobody even knew he was doing it. Corrigan called himself a fixer, because he fixed accidents that were about to happen. It was complicated and unrewarding, and even though doing it right meant saving someone, he didn’t enjoy it.

It does help if you've listened to the original "FIXER" book first, but if you have and you liked it, this one will definitely not disappoint. A great second chapter in the very interesting life and career of Corrigan Bain. Highly enjoyable, highly recommended.

Entertaining and Uplifting
Revisado: 08-23-18
Some fictional stories take place in a world very different from our own: think of The Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. But my favorite kind of fictional stories are ones that take place in our world, where everything is exactly as we know it... EXCEPT FOR ONE BIG THING, and it's that one difference that causes the drama. "Don't Let Me Go" is exactly that kind of story. The settings are a real world city, house, and high school we could easily live near. The protagonist is the kind of young teen girl we could easily sit next to on the bus, and barely take notice of. Her family problems are as real as they are raw... and then the author brings in the ONE BIG FANTASTIC ELEMENT to give the heroine some very unique ways to deal with her troubles. I won't reveal too much of the plot and spoil it, but I'll say I found the story entertaining and uplifting. It's easy to root for the main character Joanie, it's good to watch her grow through the story, and the characterization of Adler is perfect in his near-perfection. An enjoyable tale!
