Historia
Successful New York psychiatrist Richard Gallagher was skeptical yet intrigued when a hard-nosed, no-nonsense Catholic priest asked him to examine a woman for a possible exorcism. Meeting her, Gallagher was astonished. The woman’s behavior defied logic. This remarkable case was the first of many that Gallagher would encounter. Sought after today by leaders of all faiths—ministers, priests, rabbis and imams, Gallagher has spent a quarter-century studying demonic activity and exorcisms throughout history and has witnessed more cases than any other psychiatrist in the world today.

I really enjoyed this work and I strongly encourage its listening. I was a policeman and had the misfortune of coming across someone afflicted by a possession. Dr Gallagher helped me to understand the change I observed in this person after they received spiritual help.

This is a great collection of short stories
Revisado: 03-30-24
I would prefer this in about a 4-8hr edition. Perhaps do a collection book after you have about 20 of these tales. I knew it was short going in, so I’m not marking it down, I’d just prefer more content for $10 and I think it would boost your sales.
As for the stories, they’re similar to my experiences in talking to people as a cryptozoologist in the PNW. Interestingly I live just outside of Leavenworth, WA where one of these stories takes place. Look forward to the next one.

Another excellent work as rated by a retired policeman
Revisado: 11-20-22
I shed a lot of blood and tears to understand the business the lead character is in.
Spoilers below:
When Walt’s daughter Katie talks about “there’s always a case” and lists off the milestones in life that were missed because of “the job” it took a Chip outta me.
I heard that too many times. I had to take a few days off listening to the book because it hit me so squarely. This is how I know Craig got the character right. He calls out parts of the lived experience as a cop that cut to the quick. This is why I enjoy this book. Not because of what the story does to the characters, but what the story teaches me about myself.

The true story of the Earp brothers, Doc Holliday, and the famous Battle at the OK Corral, by the New York Times best-selling author of Dodge City and Wild Bill. On the afternoon of October 26, 1881, nine men clashed in what would be known as the most famous shootout in American frontier history. Thirty bullets were exchanged in 30 seconds, killing three men and wounding three others. The fight sprang forth from a tense, hot summer.

I’m admittedly biased as I’m now a retired policeman who was shot in horrific gang violence. It’s humbling to know that I competed in the same arena as men like these, although distanced by more than 100 years.
I gained valuable insight into the human condition through this book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal. When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

It was fun to hear Jim actually read his book. You get a feel for just how ‘John Wayne’ Harry is in Jim’s mind.
Next I think Jim Marsters should write a book and have Jim Butcher do the audiobook.

Historia
This is a story that starts off close and goes very big. The initial part of the story might sound familiar at first: it is about a platoon of mostly 19-year-old boys sent to Afghanistan, and an experience that ends abruptly in catastrophe. Their part of the story folds into the next: inexorably linked to those soldiers and never comprehensively reported before is the US Department of Defense’s quest to build the world’s most powerful biometrics database, with the ability to identify, monitor, catalog, and police people all over the world.

Great military true crime read
Revisado: 02-24-22
Jacobsen is a remarkable researcher and she has done a deep dive analysis of this case. I’ve listened to a number of her works and I find the information used to be fascinating.
I’m a veteran and a retired police officer. This lends me perspective into how much time goes into an investigation like the one presented by Jacobsen for this project. Especially since I was duped by the story spun by the legal defense team. I didn’t want to believe that this former Lieutenant could have been this terrible. However I’d have never dug this mess up, which is why I appreciate true journalism.
Jacobsen is one of the last standing pillars of the fourth estate.

Was Jesus the invention of a Roman emperor? The author of this ground-breaking book believes he was. Caesar's Messiah reveals the key to a new and revolutionary understanding of the origin of Christianity, explaining what is the New Testament, who is the real Jesus, and how Christ's second coming already occurred.

Thought provoking
Revisado: 07-13-21
I’m not sufficiently trained to weigh in on Atwill’s thesis. I can neither prove, nor disprove it without access to a time machine.
I enjoy listening to books I’ll disagree with it challenge my own ideals. This book clearly fits that role. It’s made my consider many of my personal beliefs.
For that reason, I recommend it to other Christians.

Historia
Based on more than 700 hypnotic-regression interviews with alien abductees and a Roper survey of 6,000 adults, The Threat reveals why the aliens are here and what they want, explains why their agenda has been kept secret, and exposes their frightening plans for earth and its inhabitants. In a direct, authoritative challenge to researchers who believe the abduction phenomenon is essentially benevolent and spiritually uplifting, Professor David M. Jacobs proves that there is a far more disturbing and potentially dangerous plan underway, with possible alien domination at its core.

Dr Jacobs has a very interesting point. I don’t know if I agree with all of his conclusions, but he provides sufficient evidence to understand how he got there.
That makes this a thought provoking piece.
