Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Historia
It is 1988. On a dead-end street in a run-down suburb there is a music shop that stands small and brightly lit, jam-packed with records of every kind. Like a beacon, the shop attracts the lonely, the sleepless, and the adrift; Frank, the shop's owner, has a way of connecting his customers with just the piece of music they need. Then, one day, into his shop comes a beautiful young woman, Ilse Brauchmann, who asks Frank to teach her about music.

Historia
When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss - a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten - by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare - one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

You don’t think it’s possible to be on the edge of your seat, completely invested and hanging on every word for over 12 hours? Well buckle up bc you absolutely will with Turn of the Key. it’s the very best kind of torturous the suspense Ma Ware crafted w this thriller. And Ms Church is a master of her craft. Soooo good! So good!!!

Before she can stop him, Isa's dog charges into the water to retrieve what first appears to be a wayward stick - and to her horror, Isa discovers it's not a stick at all...but a human bone. Wow....
Revisado: 11-21-18
From the first word I was hooked on this story. Ruth Ware’s writing is masterful, her storytelling ability rich. An Ms Church’s narration is perfection. Listening to this mystery was all consuming, with Ware’s beautiful prose I was transported into the lives of Isa, Fatima (my favorite), Thea and, of course, Kate. Dive into the salty mist of Sultan and enjoy the suspense as you untangle the web of lies and lives that shaped these Sultan House girls. This is an audible not to be missed.

Historia
In this personal, eloquently-argued essay—adapted from the much-admired TEDx talk of the same name—Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie offers readers a unique definition of feminism for the twenty-first century. Drawing extensively on her own experiences and her deep understanding of the often masked realities of sexual politics, here is one remarkable author’s exploration of what it means to be a woman now—and an of-the-moment rallying cry for why we should all be feminists.

Such a great quick piece of brilliance. Loved how the author was able to boil down all the tangled and complicated rhetoric surrounding “feminism” to an approachable and necessary concept. She makes the irrefutable argument “yes, we should all be feminists.” Loved it! Required reading for 2018!

Historia
When you listen to Lily and the Octopus, you will be taken on an unforgettable ride. The magic of this novel is in the listening, and we don't want to spoil it by giving away too many details. We can tell you that this is a story about that special someone: the one you trust, the one you can't live without. For Ted Flask, that someone special is his aging companion, Lily, who happens to be a dog.

This is why you listen to audible...
Revisado: 10-17-18
This book is responsible for strange looks received at stoplights bc I was caught laughing until tears...not to mention the fact I was forced to show up to work with red tinned eyes from the full on ugly cry sustained during the commute. This book is about Ted, who falls in love with Lily. And they go on fabulous adventures and rage you along for the ride. It’s about friendship and hope and being authentic and loss and love...it’s about selfless love and embracing your today. What a beautiful story, and the audible performance is spectacular. If you only ever listen to one book, let it be this one.
