A Movie will never do this series justice.
Revisado: 04-07-17
JR Ward does it again. I am exhausted from the emotional roller coaster she takes you on with her characters....all at the same time. Everytime I think we've come to an end she pulls more characters out of her pocket with awesome storylines. I have come to believe that a movie would never do her work justice. She is simply an amazing writer.

Historia
Julien Lacusta is a troubled soul, born into tragic circumstances, and raised in a violent time. Despite being a Master Warrior in the house of Jadon, and one of the most elite trackers the Vampyr have ever seen, he is damaged to the core: tormented by endless shadows, haunted by unseen ghosts. And he knows - by all the celestial gods he knows - that if he ever releases those demons, the beasts that lurk within, there will be hell, fire, and brimstone to pay.

I am in Ecstasy over Blood Ecstasy !
Revisado: 06-25-16
Tessa Dawn you have done it Again !!!!
The book was worth the wait! I love the way you keep all of the characters involved in the drama even when they are not the central characters of the story. I especially love the way you make a way to emotionally heal Julien and then Braden, good job and perfect example of it taking a village to raise a child….no matter the species or age. Well done !
Love, mayhem and tear jerking ….and honor…god I love the honor. May be we should send some of your books to a few politicians, they could learn a few lessons from Napoleon.
Tessa your prequel cliffhangers are killing me…and this time you only reveal the next destiny but with a twist, and no indication of the warrior ! To quote Nachari Silivasi to Saber Alexiares….” Dude…you are so incredibly jacked up…. You do know this right !”
Lastly, Eric Dove’s narration of the story…man what can I say, his voice and intonations were created just to read your books. The man is flawless ! The two of you are like a fine beer in the perfect glass, magical.
I cannot wait to hear the next one!

JR Ward does it again
Revisado: 04-17-16
JR Ward is simply amazing and Damn ! I love the way she weaves out new stories with incomprehensible exits you would have never considered in the midst of a new story. You can actually see how she is laying out a blank canvas for the next book and making the way for whatever direction she wants to go in. Her story lines are creeping vines and the books are addictive.
Her books have become like my children…you have one and have so much love for that one that you cannot imagine loving anything more, until you have another. I have to admit…I have been a little gun shy since the Shadow……The death scene with Trez and Selena had me crying so hard I tipsy toed through the next book like each chapter had landmines…. Even with that spin-off she was true to form and tied it in a perfect bow so that old generation met new generation without losing anything in the introduction.
I agree with an earlier reviewer….” If Mistress Ward ever needs ought”..lol ……I would mow her lawn , water her plants ,….whatever it takes just so she can keep writing and keep us connected to the world of the BDB.
I am also glad that Jim Frangione has been the narrator throughout this series. At this point I can see no one else doing it justice, and for me he has become the voice of the Blackdagger Brotherhood….” True”!
My only regret is that I go through her stories so fast that now I have to wait possibly a whole year for the next one to come out.
I have yet to be disappointed !

Torn on the Tornians
Revisado: 04-03-16
I’m kind of torn….no pun intended on the title “Tornians”.
I sort of like the premise of it, alien planet on the verge of extinction because of the lack of viable females. I like the evil villains and conspiracies going on in the background….but for some reason I kind of felt like I was listening to a children’s book gone PG wrong.
I like the concept of the use of sound effects, and multiple voices for narration. …..but the female sounds like one of the woman from the cast of “ Seventh Heaven” or “Full House” all wholesome goodness making out with Darth Vader ‘s brother Grimm. Something just seemed off with these voices…..coupling.
I was able to listen past the narration, and kind of enjoy “The Story”, and I am intrigued enough to find out what happens in the next book in hopes that it somehow grows up a little….but on first listen ……this would not be a book I crave to hear over and over again.

Before light battled shadow, the sacrifice became mandatory, or the first Blood Moon adorned the celestial sky... There was The Curse.

Oh Tessa..how you and Eric....tease us !
Revisado: 01-30-16
Short but Sweet.
This series is so freak- in …Good !!!!
I could talk about the characters “All Day Long”…LOL I don’t want to rob anyone the joy of experiencing it especially since it is short….so I'm going to take the advice of that biker guy that screams out…” Damn it Donny…..don’t ad-lib”. I normally hate prequels especially since they are usually too short to waste my credit on and always seem to be read by narrators that aren’t good or doesn’t seem comfortable in the story rolls. Eric Dove is reading so we already know that is not going to be the problem here.
It is a good story. It does give a little more information on the beginning of the blood curse and shines a little light on the connection between Napoleon and the Silivasi’s. I did wish it was a little longer because it leaves you wondering and now I have questions on more points than the story tells us about. It was however a really good burp, and didn’t leave me disappointed I spent my whole big credit on it. It is a good prequel.
I guess that is the trait of really good writing/narrating ….It makes you want more…thus…my addiction to the Blood Curse series, which is rivaled only by my addiction to the Blackdagger Brotherhood series.
I will be sitting here….with my celestial credits waiting for the next book in this series to come out.

Sure you can have a say..Say my name, Say my name!
Revisado: 01-24-16
This is an amazing series...I am in love with all of Tessa's characters...Ramsey Olaru is just another one of my favorite characters, and there are so many to choose from I am excited about the whole damn thing. Even Salvatore Rafael Nistor..this guy is deliciously evil...and a true pain, and I can't wait to see what evil he comes up with next.
You have got to listen to it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. I know that is something people plant to make you buy into a book. Trust me...this time...it's true.
Eric Dove does another amazing job reading this story.... I read from another review that "he really did his homework" and they were right. I don't know whose name to say...Ramsey...or Eric, but all praise has to go to Tessa Dawn....girl you've got talent, and did a wonderful job.
You will enjoy it from the first book to this last one.
I am absolutely devastated that the prequel to the next story about Julian that this book ends with is not out on audio yet. Eric Dove has the nerve to be a good singer to compound the devastation and pull of this series....Man. It adds another dimension to the book, and brings Dark Moon Vale to life. Where the hell is book 8!

Great story paired with perfect narration
Revisado: 12-27-15
I love to read and I have done so to the detriment of my eye sight….but luckily, and to the rescue there are audiobooks. The next hurdle I found myself in was finding great stories read by really good narrators. I would love it if I found more woman narrators that could read some of my favorite stories with the same punch and slam dunk as narrators like Phil Gigante, or Jim Frangione…but unfortunately I find many of their narration performances to be.. Breathy, flat and missing the mark in the art of pausing because the story calls for it, and not because there is a coma on the page. It has made me cringe and turn off many awesome stories I have already read and hoped would be a great listen.
I have listened to Eric Dove do J.R Wards Fallen Angel Series, and Tina Folsom’s Scanguard Vampires and loved them…but the combination of Tessa Dawn’s writing in the Blood Curse series paired with Eric Dove’s narration is Freak-en Awesome.
I am not going to waste time telling the premise of the story, because others have already done that. I will say that I have laughed, cried and been pissed off at some of the characters as if I was sitting in front of a screen watching this crazy story play out. I have had to pull my car over because I was laughing so hard at Marquis Silivasi scaring the HELL out of what was left of a biker gang on his front lawn in book two “Blood Awakening” .
It is a combination of good writing and great narration….. read to perfection. I cannot wait until another one is released. Great job Ms. Dawn and Eric Dove….damn…he hits this story out of the park and it will be ruined if anyone else takes over this story. There are not many narrators who can read a story so well that they make you forget about the person reading the story and transport you into the story. Jump on this series you will love it.
