I’ve always heard that you should marry someone that loves you more than you love them - that if you do this, you’ll always be happy. Did I follow that advice? No. Am I happy? No. And is Finn happy? No. I’m stuck in a marriage with an ex-Marine suffering from PTSD. I’m not sure we’re in love anymore. We have a baby who brings us both joy - but it’s not enough. I feel like my life is crumbling around me and I’m struggling to keep the pieces together.

This is a heavy read but I appreciate the realism. I have a few friends in the military and I feel like I need to go and hug them now. I feel bad for literally everyone in this book (well, except Tristan). Blair should have left, but she couldn't because everyone was pressuring her saying divorce was The Absolute Worst Thing That Could Happen (spoilers: no it's not), and Finn desperately needed help and didn't know how to ask for it. Jeeze it's rough.
Writing was excellent and Narrator was great, good range of voices. Will recommend.

This book was a nice little escape. A magical mystery with a little romance weaved in. It was fairly predictable but that wasn't a deal breaker, at least for me. It would have been nice if the female protagonist hadn't completely checked out in the final battle though. She had to be saved by the male protagonists and that was kind of annoying but meh.
Narrator was solid, good range of voices.
