Nailed the ending of the duology!
Revisado: 03-12-25
This was a wonderful, well-paced conclusion to the series! I’ve been waiting after that last cliffhanger and the payoff is really worth it. The author gives great descriptions and a believable magic system
Engaging voice work from the actress, hats off.

Fantastic ending to an adorable series
Revisado: 10-06-24
Alice is such a sweet and compelling character. I really love how each couple and person gets their own perspective and stories. The continuity is great. The humor never dries up. And Alice finally stands up for herself. There’s no loose ends!
10/10, stuck the landing! Great job to the actors and the author Molly ❤️

Historia
In a race to stop an ancient evil from destroying the worlds as they know them, Sunny comes to a startling, heartbreaking realization: if she chooses love—everything will burn. Sunny Cho aspires to be the dullest, least interesting person in any given room, which can be challenging for a nine-tailed fox spirit. So she drifts from city to city—staying clear of any and all attachment—and keeps her fox buried deep inside her. It is better this way. She would rather live as half of herself than risk losing control of her terrible powers.

I’m sorry to report that the story line is…eh
Revisado: 08-20-24
Sunni is a nine-tailed wolf spirit. While there are a few twists, for the most part, they are heavily foreshadowed and unsurprising. You’ll need a good imagination because there’s very little description of scenery after the initial exposition.
There’s a lot of fixation on the MC wanting to sleep with everyone and it’s a bit much. The ending is angsty and clearly sets up for a sequel. If you liked the Inner Court in ACOTAR, you’ll enjoy the second half of the book.
The actress did a good job of bringing the dialog to life. As always, it takes courage to write a book. I won’t be listening again, but I did learn a tidy bit about Korean mythology.

A Phenomenal End to an Epic
Revisado: 02-19-24
I’ve picked up every book as soon as it dropped. This conclusion was beautiful. Like, Narnia level beautiful and satisfying and each character is SO DIFFERENT and deeply satisfying to read on. I can’t wait to re-read it. Dekah as an overwhelmingly infinite character. Philosophy + personality. I can’t wait to re-listen to the series.

Fantastical!
Revisado: 01-15-24
I loved all the character progression in this second installment. The ending is super satisfying and leaves room for expansion if the author desires or one can be content with a great ending here. Simideli is an intriguing character and her romance with Kola doesn’t detract from the intensity of the situation which I love. An amazing follow up to Skin of the Deep

Historia
Bolivian-Argentinian Inez Olivera belongs to the glittering upper society of nineteenth century Buenos Aires, and like the rest of the world, the town is steeped in old world magic that’s been largely left behind or forgotten. Inez has everything a girl might want, except for the one thing she yearns the most: her globetrotting parents—who frequently leave her behind.

Definitely half “The Mummy” and “Death on the Nile”
Revisado: 01-03-24
Technically very well written with enough description to keep you engaged and not overwhelmed. The cast is very interesting and I was guessing at every turn.
There are certainly thematic elements and plot points that appear at the end that feel overwhelming and confusing, but it reminded me of how the end of Catching Fire felt. What’s happening? What elements was I discounting?
The narrator easily brings life to 2 different cultures and the characters around. I really liked it.
The ending has me annoyed though because WHAT THE HELL

Historia
The year is 1348. Thomas, a disgraced knight, has found a young girl alone in a dead Norman village. An orphan of the Black Death, and an almost unnerving picture of innocence, she tells Thomas that plague is only part of a larger cataclysm - that the fallen angels under Lucifer are rising in a second war on heaven, and that the world of men has fallen behind the lines of conflict. Is it delirium or is it faith? She believes she has seen the angels of God. She believes the righteous dead speak to her in dreams. And now she has convinced the faithless Thomas to shepherd her across a depraved landscape to Avignon.

A Fantastic Cast of Characters
Revisado: 12-19-23
If you were a fan of Castlevania, you will love this book.
There are various layered elements such as Beasts, Monsters, Angels, Demons all spread over the backdrop of the Plague and all that entailed on a day-to-day basis. The imagery is fantastic.
The characters are beautifully created. Tomas is a roving troubled ex-knight. Delphine “the Girl” is a totally believable 10 year-old girl. It’s giving Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey with a gentle sidekick of a gay priest. I loved it. 10/10. Just give it an hour to get into!

Great characters very little description of the world around.
Revisado: 12-10-23
Over half of the story takes place outside of Raavens in the desert. This is well described. The other half is in the city and super underwhelming. There's a highly advanced city, but no explanation of the tech or how it got there. There's little description of the character’s features. The action is well written but very little guided imagination
Vocals did amazingly! The characters were all compelling and I genuinely cared about each death.
