I really enjoy novellas. they don't waste time with way too much detail or too many distractions. the reader could talk to me all day long. my ears love his voice. I did not figure out the perp until way late. Yep. the author got me good on this one.

Historia
As a published novelist, Lila Rose has been writing about fictional weddings all her life. But disaster strikes on her own big day when she hears her philandering fiancé, Daniel, whispering sweet nothings to someone else. With her dream day shattered, all Lila wants to do is run and hide, so she decides to fly solo on her own honeymoon. When Daniel arrives in the resort with his new squeeze, Lila strikes up a ‘showmance’ with hot new movie star Freddie Bianchi. Freddie is perfect for the part, and Lila soon relaxes into her leading lady role.

I Was Entertained From Start to Finish!

I loved the narrators voice and cadence from the start. There were times I laughed or commented out loud. This would be a good book for the beach or vacation.

a Wonderful Way to Start Your Day
Revisado: 11-03-22
I am so glad I found this! I don't have a problem thinking of things I am grateful for but it's not at the front of my thoughts. the hard part for me was listing things I am looking forward to for today. I love that this audiobook has me spend my first six minutes intentionally putting these things at the forefront of my mind. The readers voice is gentle (kinda like George Clooney) and sets the bar at simple and easy things to be grateful for and look forward to.. I'm grateful this is offered for free by Audible and will listen to this over and over.

Better Than Expected
Revisado: 10-19-22
I got this book because it was recommended, but I listened to the whole book because I found it interesting and intriguing. It was a historical view I did not have much insight into. The way women and slaves were regarded yet so heavily depended upon is a sad commentary on our country's history. That said, it is important to know. I recommend this book for anyone who is not already a history junkie. The reader was quite good.

Quite Repetitive
Revisado: 10-12-22
there was way too much time spoken in caves where they saw the same things over and over. oh and the Mother story/ song was worn out to the point where I fast forwarded through it. Knowing this was the last book in the series, I had high expectations for this book and was greatly disappointed. They could have explored the First more and her motives for pushing Aila through her training. Was she really over Jondalar? I just think the book could have explored more interpersonal things rather than boring caves. All in all, I'm going to miss Aila and Jondalar.

This is Book 4 and I am still fully engaged. When it's been a while since I listened I think, I wonder what Aila and Jondalar are up to. haha Some things are detailed beyond my ADD capabilities but it's OK because I know that good things are ahead..

I Can't Get Enough!
Revisado: 06-27-22
This is book 2 in the Earth's Children series. About 40+ hours between the two books. I can't wait to listen to the next book. The author can get bogged down with details sometimes. The action scenes are engaging! The lovemaking scenes in book 2 are sometimes detailed but never crude. The parallel between the way some view the "flat heads" in the book as animals and how Black's were viewed as not human was clear to me. So far, once understood, by one of the blue-eyed men, flat heads gained his respect. I highly recommend this series of books that I gladly spend my Audible credits on.

Attention Holder
Revisado: 05-31-22
This performance was great. the acting and action and pace held my attention. I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. I know when I start talking to the characters, the book has grabbed me. usually the books with multiple characters are the worst for me. Either the acting or story aren't great or I can't tell who is who, but this book has all the right stuff.
The Book also highlights why it seems the justice system is broken. the zeal to catch the bigger fish means that a lot of drugs enter the country just so they can see who bought and sold it. meantime, a lot of drugs are sold on the street to the young and old.
