Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Woke garbage
Revisado: 01-27-24
With a lackluster story after a promising premise, the book is more woke propaganda than actual novel. Multiple times the author takes shots at people who chose not to get vaccinated against Covid-19, a position that has aged like milk now given all the deaths from the vaccine. Feel free to pass on this book as not even an A list actor can save it.

Damning evidence points to Vittoria as the murderer, and she’s quickly declared an enemy of the Seven Circles.

This book would make a romance novel blush
Revisado: 06-01-23
If someone has made it this far into the series then they know this isn’t “young adult” fiction in any way. The author describes the sex scenes in vivid detail yet the rest of the story is left lacking. If the author wanted to write porn thingy veiled as a “romance novel” then just do that and embrace it. Why try to pretend to be writing about magic or demons when those weren’t relevant to the world at all. Three books were just about a girl wanting to get laid, often and everywhere. There, I spoiled the entire series.

Historia
A funny and touching story about how to deal with the struggles of adulthood, how to live a good life, and how money can complicate it all. Money Sucks is the culmination of those discussions, rumination on the haves and the have-nots and a frank, thought-provoking look at some of the toughest questions life throws our way: What makes us happy? How much is enough? Funny and inspiring in equal measures, it’s a must-listen for anyone who cares about the future of their children, grandchildren, and the friends and family they love.

A delusional author’s take on things he failed to attain
Revisado: 02-15-22
This book, which I really wanted to enjoy, comes across as a bitter old man chastising those who have things he wants. The entire narrative is him looking down his nose at money and wealth, in the same way that a keyboard warrior living in their mother’s basement proclaims that super models are even attractive. Save yourself the time and skip this one.

Narrator is horrible!
Revisado: 12-16-21
All you need to know about this reading is that the narrator performs the parts of children as if he’s never met a child in his life. His performance in this area completely distracts from the story!

We are in a small room with the vampire, face to face, as he speaks--as he pours out the hypnotic, shocking, moving, and erotically charged confessions of his first two hundred years as one of the living dead. . . He speaks quietly, plainly, even gently . . . carrying us back to the night when he departed human existence as heir--young, romantic, cultivated--to a great Louisiana plantation, and was inducted by the radiant and sinister Lestat into the other, the "endless," life....

Basically it’s just the protagonist whining for hours on end. Why people enjoy this series is a mystery. Twilight had characters with more depth.

In 1994, Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson were brutally murdered at her home in Brentwood, California. O. J. Simpson was tried for the crime, but was ultimately found not guilty of criminal charges. The victims' families brought civil cases against Simpson, in which he was found liable for willfully and wrongfully causing the deaths of Ron and Nicole by committing battery with malice and oppression. The Goldman family views this book as Simpson's confession.

A clear bias by the author is present throughout
Revisado: 02-25-21
Something was wrong with this book, I could feel it. Not the grandiose intros by both the author and the Goldman family, although those were disappointing. Instead it didn’t click until the afterward where the author identified himself as the father of a murdered child. Then it hit me, he wants to punish everyone accused of murder because he doesn’t feel his daughter received justice. While I truly feel for the author, condemning all others is not the way to find justice for his daughter.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom
Revisado: 01-06-21
As the title says, the audio quality is terrible! Once you get past that, prepare yourself for the linguistic style of a drunken sailor. In an effort to appear “edgy” the author swears constantly. Cursing has its place, hell we all love to do it, but the author is using “fuck” just to say “fuck” rather than emphasize a point. It gets really old, really fast...

Horrific voice acting
Revisado: 11-21-20
While I hate to be so mean, every actor associated with this project should be ashamed of their performance. This title is so bad that it’s difficult to listen to even at the short runtime.

In The End of Life as We Know It, best-selling author Michael Guillen takes a penetrating look at how the scientific community is pushing the boundaries of morality. The End of Life as We Know It takes us into laboratories and boardrooms where these troubling advances are taking place and asks the question no scientists seem to be asking: What does this mean for the future of humanity?

I made it 9 minutes before shutting it off
Revisado: 11-18-20
It’s fairly common for a book of this genre to list a few headlines to pique the reader’s attention, but after 9 minutes of nothing but the author reading off article headlines I shut it off. If the author is this unimaginative with the introduction then I’ll just assume the rest of the book is equally mundane.

A weekend at the Lakewood Retreat is exactly what Chloe Powell needs. Freshly unemployed after her boss loses a reelection campaign, the former press secretary desperately wants a break from the bustle of Washington DC. Protagonist act a as a small child not a grown woman
Revisado: 07-04-20
This book is terrible to the point that I refuse to finish it despite the short runtime. The main character acts as though she is brand new to the world completely devoid of survival instinct or a sense of self preservation. Why you might ask? Well she has the hots for the other main character, a man who comes off as creepy IMMEDIATELY. Perhaps this is a result of how society has “evolved” but the fact that any author believes that a full grown, college educated woman would blindly follow around a man she just met is both absurd and sexist. 👎👎
