Historia
Jason and his companions managed to forestall the inexorable undead, but their battle is far from done. Both they and their enemies are scattered across a strange realm, one that someone must conquer if anyone is to get out alive. Territory by territory, factions fight to reunite their people and conquer the realm. Jason must contend with alliances he doesn’t want, friends he cannot find, and enemies ranging from angelic despots to the power of an undead god. He must face a realm that has been warped by his own mind and find a way to save a friend whose sacrifice got them this far.

Heath’s performance was moving and impactful
Revisado: 07-26-24
I love this universe and story, and Heath Miller’s performance brings so much emotion and humanity to the words on the page. There are characters we have watched grow up from teenagers, and the payoff of that growth is so wonderful, painful, and altogether good.

Historia
Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there's an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can't have the planet, they're sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize. But there's something wrong with Murderbot; it isn't running within normal operational parameters.

More Murderbot
Revisado: 11-18-23
PITCH: Takes place days after the events of the last book, Exit Strategy. Tension involving the merging of two crews and untreated construct-PTSD set the groundwork for dealing with the fallout of recent events. Once more the melancholy Construct, its Asshole-Transport partner, with some old and new faces try to save strange colonists from the dangers of being unaligned in the Corporation Rim.
THOUGHTS: The length of this book falls between the novellas and the last book, Exit Strategy. In fact, it feels like the last book was once two books crammed together, and that this one is the third in the Trilogy. This volume is pretty tight, and wraps up a great deal of the loose ends of Exit Strategy without feeling either bloated or stretched. It assumes you just finished Exit Strategy and picked this up immediately after, as there is little explanation of all but the newest characters or plot points you should know. I reread all 7 releases in anticipation, and was well prepared, but simply rereading Exit Strategy will be enough.
One down side to that is the set pieces don’t feel as novel or unknown, and the external stakes feel much lower. Murderbot’s internal issues B-Plot feels tacked on, with the character takes steps back on the resolutions and character developments within Exit Strategy, a few days earlier. Diminishing the character’s competence early on in the story feels manufactured and unearned.
Do I love this universe? Yes.
Do I have to love all the books equally? No
Will I read them all again in a few months? Also Yes.

Historia
During World War II, in the middle of building an atomic bomb, the leaders of the Manhattan Project were alarmed to learn that Nazi Germany was far outpacing the Allies in nuclear weapons research; Hitler, with just a few pounds of uranium, would have the capability to reverse the entire D-Day operation and conquer Europe. So they assembled a rough and motley crew of geniuses—dubbed the Alsos Mission—and sent them careening into Axis territory to spy on, sabotage, and even assassinate members of Nazi Germany's feared Uranium Club.

Murderbot continues an action filled treatise
Revisado: 07-01-21
One of the beautiful things about Science Fiction literature is that it demands to approach difficult subjects of personal dignity, ownership over one’s own autonomy, and coping with the reality of having a flood of data but still not having all of the answers. Besides who doesn’t love a soap opera loving killing machine.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Murderbot: person
Revisado: 06-29-21
Murderbot’s dialogues and monologues highlight the same issues of purpose, doubt, self-worth and integration that many feel after time apart from a society that now feels alien. Whether you have left combat, prison, a controlling influence or simply have trauma that you can’t explain to others, you are likely to hear echoes of your own thoughts in the narrator’s words. All people are complicated. Murderbot is no different.

Great book, and the voice acting helped to draw you into the characters' world of dark days, changing motives and the desire to truly understand how it all fits together.
