Historia
A central feature of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is its pronouncement that there are living prophets. Though a central doctrine, it is nevertheless not unusual to have questions. Packed with stories, explanations, important statements, and sacred experiences, The Last Safe Place shares seven core principles that correct misconceptions about prophets. Understanding these, we are in a better position than ever to teach our children about prophets and why they can trust them. We also find ourselves better able to address questions about living prophets.

Do not miss this one! it started slow but what great direction and guidance! This book was informative and enlightening. I didn't expect to touch on so many important principles. The stories were touching and inspiring. This was such a wealth of information that I plan to read it again and share with family.

What???
Revisado: 12-19-20
I've never heard a more monotonous narrator, and I have nothing to show for it. I learned nothing. Have you ever had to sit through a lecture from a parent or superior who spoke down to you about subject matter of which you already understood, yet you listened. That's how I felt trying to listen to this book. "If you want to perform well, write down your goals." "Be a creative person by trying a new skill." "You can be a great friend by being a good listener." Nothing new here folks. By the way, the subject matter isn't about self control. I'm not sure how this book has so many great ratings?

Historia
In Being Mortal, best-selling author Atul Gawande tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Medicine has triumphed in modern times, transforming birth, injury, and infectious disease from harrowing to manageable. But in the inevitable condition of aging and death, the goals of medicine seem too frequently to run counter to the interest of the human spirit.

This was a thought provoking book that really helps you examine the needs of people and family and eventually each and everyone of us. I especially encourage this for all clinicians and caregivers. Beautifully written!

Laughable

the book was well-written and there were definitely laughable moments, but overall I didn't find it truly entertaining or beneficial. in fact there are times when I found the story annoying.
