I love it when you meet a character in one book, and then get to hear their story in the next release! Ms. Collins does just this with One Hundred Desires. We met Vivian in One Hundred Dreams -she’s Val’s sister and now the CEO of Vortex Security. In this book, she comes to Aspen Cove to meet her new niece and ends up working for Red – another character that we’ve met repeatedly in Aspen Cove. I love watching Vivian grow and become comfortable in her own skin. Throughout the story, she takes control of her life and makes decisions based on what is best for her – not just the family business. I also loved watching Red develop into a likeable human being. We’ve seen hints that he’s more than he appears, and this book does a great job of showing us what we guessed at. As per usual, Ms. Collins tells a wonderful story, allows us to catch up with some well loved residents of Aspen Cove, and lets us laugh out loud at various points in the story. This is a great read that will leave you smiling and looking forward to the next installment. I really want Jackson to get his HEA too!

Welcome back to Aspen Cove! This book, One Hundred Dreams, is a delightful addition to the Aspen Cove series. Cameron Madden has been an actress since she was practically born, but has been type cast as the “bubbly, good girl” who has had her entire life mapped out for her. Understandably, she wants a change and heads to Aspen Cove to figure out who she is and what she wants from life. Her bodyguard, Val Armstrong, also feels his work, goals, future, etc. must include putting his family first – not leaving much room for his own happiness. These two don’t really get along in the beginning, but then survive an emergency landing of their small plane which changes how they see each other. As usual, Aspen Cove works its magic on this couple with the help of well-known and well-loved characters. Eventually both Cameran and Val take charge of their own lives and share a HEA together. I loved the personal growth which occurred as well as the glimpses into my favorite characters’ lives. Ms. Collins does an amazing job of keeping the reader’s interest in such a large series and I have to say, after getting a taste of Val’s siblings, I’m hoping she creates stories for each of them as well! Both the audiobook and the kindle version will leave you with a smile on your face when completed! The narrator did a great job of playing all the different voices!

Another Wonderful Story from Aspen Cove

Finally, another tale from Kelly Collin’s Aspen Cove series. I’ve been waiting for Trenton’s story since he redeemed himself in an earlier book (One Hundred Whispers). I have to tell you that I had no problems liking Trenton after disliking him before as Ms. Collins does an amazing job of letting the readers understand why he acted the way he did and how he is changing now. I was a bit worried but shouldn’t have been. This story is about Trenton and Elsa finding love and navigating a relationship while undergoing trials. I didn’t appreciate the way Elsa handled her diagnosis, but I did love that Trenton stood by her and helped her understand how she should let her kids take care of HER for a change. I hope you give this story a chance as it’s funny, emotional, uplifting, and just generally a great read / listen. Plus, I’m all for encouraging writers to have more romances for older couples!

I couldn’t stop listening to this collection, and it took me over twenty hours to do so! This is three books in one, so very much worth a credit in my opinion. Besides the value of so many hours of listening, I love that I was introduced to a set of characters that I can follow for many books to come. I’d definitely recommend reading them in order so you can understand the back stories. It’s probably not necessary, but I don’t like it when I can tell there are details I should know, but again, maybe that’s just me!
As a general synopsis, each book focuses on one couple. So far, one character is brought to town due to the kindness of an elderly lady whom we read a good bit about, but never actually meet. She leaves little pink letters that lead people to Aspen Cove to find happiness, which in turn helps save the town from dying out as so many small towns do.
The first book, One Hundred Reasons, is about Sage, the nurse that takes care of Bea before she passed (the elderly woman mentioned above). She comes to town to take over Bea’s Bed and Breakfast and falls in love with Cannon (who has multiple family issues of his own to deal with). I love the theme of second chances, redemption, family values, and true love in this book. I need to be as open hearted and forgiving as Sage is!
The second book, One Hundred Heartbeats, is truly near and dear to my heart (no pun intended). This story is about Katie who has had a heart transplant and moved to Aspen Cove to take over Bea’s bakery where she too finds true love with Bowie. There’s a plot twist here and I won’t spoil it for you, but suffice it to say I was blown away. My niece has had 3 heart transplants and I can tell you that Mrs. Collins perfectly captured how Katie’s parents react to her moving far away from them. I made my sister read this book 😊
Finally, the third book, One Hundred Wishes, is about a former resident named Samantha who returns to Aspen Cove where she once lived years ago. She hopes to take a much-needed break from her famous singing career until she is scheduled to go back onstage in a short period of time. She falls in love with Dalton, who had served in prison on murder charges incurred when he saved a woman from an attack. I love how Mrs. Collins showed how hard life is for Dalton and yet how positive he stays even though he suffered such trials and tribulations due to no fault of his own. There was a good bit of suspense at the end of the book to keep me on the edge of my seat, but it was handled in such a way that we know at the that just desserts were eventually served, and everyone gets their HEA.
I would encourage you to give this series a try as you will fall in love with the town and characters. I know I just purchased the second collection which includes books 4-6 and hope that the other books are put into collections as well!

I have NEVER written a negative review for any of Ms. Peterman's books. I can truthfully say I have loved every single book I've ever read or listened to - until this one. Seriously??? The first part is LITERALLY copied and pasted from Book 6. It's the exact same words / audio - I kid you not. Then, when the story finally picks up as new content, it's over. What is this? I should have known better when I saw how short the book was, but I didn't want to miss anything. I can truly say I wasted my money. I'll go ahead and buy book 8, but if it isn't more like the first book then I will have to find a new series. Please, just skip this book and you won't feel like you've wasted time, credit, or money.

The story is so engaging I didn’t want to stop listening. I loved the message that age doesn’t define us and that women need to get comfortable in our own skin. Unfortunately my family thought I was crazy for laughing out loud. Too bad they couldn’t hear the story or they would have been rolling too! can’t wait for the next story.
