Very wonderful and captivating story and excellent narration. Would highly recommend as a cozy mystery despite it being such a grim situation that all the characters are living through. Love the way women dominate the situations and are respected by the men involved.

Historia
Ghostly whispers, shocking secrets, and a Pomeranian on the loose … England, 1941: Evie Harris doesn’t believe in ghosts—not even when she spots a glowing figure outside her bedroom window in the quiet village of Crofter’s Green. But when the same eerie spectre is seen by Lord Hawthorne, tied to a long-buried family scandal, even Evie starts to wonder if the past is haunting Hawthorne Manor. Before she can investigate, Lord Hawthorne is found dead at the bottom of his grand staircase. An accident? Not likely.

Somehow cozy despite being in the midst of wartime, this is a great sequel. Hopefully, there will be additional stories available as the characters that have been established are all fascinating with their own stories. Would highly recommend as a cozy mystery.

Not Exactly a Mystery
Revisado: 04-13-25
If you like morbid, gross tales, this is for you. Unfortunately predictable, and overall just sad. Personally, I wasn’t a fan. I don’t think the title matches, but meh.

I ended up getting emotionally attached to the characters way quicker than I realized. Intriguing storyline with some interesting twists. I’ll admit it, I did cry. It was well-written, non repetitive, and well rounded.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Historia
Crulden the Ruiner is the most dangerous gladiator in the galaxy. I'm his clone—equally ugly, equally dangerous, and just as feared. I'm also being held captive, since no one trusts a creature like me to be let loose. A curvy, determined human named Bee doesn't think I'm a creature, though. In fact, she thinks I just need a guide. She's got half the males on this planet eating out of her hand, and she's confident she can do the same with me. The managing little female has no idea what she's in for.
