I’d like this book, though it took me a bit of time to get into it less than a chapter. The story is interesting and it takes quite a few turns and twists. I really liked the weaving of the art and legend in it and the use of the Faye Court and the mythological beasts

I agree with the other positive reviewers however this volume needs an accompanying set of maps and lists like the First volume on the ancient world.

Another great story in the town of midnight

I enjoyed this book is much, if not more than The Midnight Crossing, her book one. I am anxious to see how and what we learn about all the other odd characters in town.

I wish I knew what was going on

I have read Wells' Murderbot stories and enjoyed them. I very much looked forward to reading this new fantasy but the reader's delivery made it hard to follow. There are a lot of characters and names so one needs to understand the story as it unfolds. The staccato delivery of the reader was annoying to me as was his accent. I may read the Kindle version though I enjoy listening to books more. I may just have to bite the bullet and read it as I think it is a good story.

Interesting but I I must have missed something.

I thought this was an interesting story. And I can see how this post apocalyptic civilization would have risen, but I missed somewhere why there were two sleeps, and in the end I’m not sure whether the protagonist lived or died.

I loved the X force series and the Mavericks series. But this by far has been my favorite book. My only question is, when is the next one coming out?

I'm confused

I think it is mostly the British accent of the reader but because of the names and the fact that it is auditory and not visual, I had a hard time keeping track of the characters. Also, names often were similar. Pretty good story. Nice descriptive writing but lots going on and so many characters. I probably will not buy the next one.

Sad that this book was short but liked the female reader reading military space action. This is a good balance I think of action and reflection. I hope this is just the jumping off point to the tale of the first woman Legionnaire.

Very depressing but worth listening to

This account of one person's journey into and out of the nightmare of the holocaust is unrelenting in its realism. I had a hard time staying with it because of this but am glad that I did if only to reinforce the message that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. This is one of the darkest episodes in our history and we have to hear the truth.
