love the way information was presented

Love the way information was presented. I would recommend this for anyone interested in self storage or commercial real estate. I would also recommend it for those who already own self storage but want to do the necessary value ads to increase NOI and value

Historia
Written by Naoki Higashida, a very smart, very self-aware, and very charming thirteen-year-old boy with autism, The Reason I Jumpis a one-of-a-kind memoir that demonstrates how an autistic mind thinks, feels, perceives, and responds in ways few of us can imagine. Parents and family members who never thought they could get inside the head of their autistic loved one at last have a way to break through to the curious, subtle, and complex life within.

My favorite book in the past 3 years
Revisado: 03-21-24
in this dystopian time of classism on our Mars civilization, Red Rising is an exciting story of the tough underdog known as the Repear (in the lowest class of Reds) surreptitiously finding his way to the top (among the Gold class). I fell in love with so many of the characters, both their strengths and their flaws. I cannot wait to find out more about whether the reaper and his companion, the mustang achieve the initial goals he set out to achieve or whether more twists and turns occur.

intriguing story, but slow in its telling
Revisado: 02-16-24
the narrator was amazing, I'd love to hear more by him. The theme of this novel is unique and intriguing. The author does a good job of adding unexpected twists and turns. However, some parts of the story do drag on for too long, or take too long to get to something interesting.

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Too much bashing of liberals and federal employees
Revisado: 05-04-23
I could not finish this book as I grew tired of the relentless bashing of liberals, educated professionals, and federal employees along with the use of racial slurs. I would suggest finding a different thriller with all the same excitement and suspense but without the neo-conservative talking points.
Ray Porter was good as the narrator. And I admit that I was initially hooked by the intensity of a tragic moment and a father/military man seeking out vengeance. Unfortunately, the anti establishment demeanor of the main character glorified and justified racist remarks and neo-con undertones of corrupt or out of touch liberals and incompetent/money wasting federal government employees. These defamatory stereotypes and false beliefs became distracting to the story line for me, and seemed unnecessary. Some examples include:
1) Describing a character who could not hack it as a corporate lawyer because he didn't have the competence or the drive to keep pace and so he took the only job where these deficiencies would be rewarded - a job as a federal attorney.
2) Disparaging federal employees by assuming their of lack strategic planning capabilities, misfocus on unimportant things, and inability to fund the "best" weapons for the job due to corrupt politicians. Somehow federal beaurocracy and stupidity were to blame for things not being to the liking of the main character, but no fault was given to the corporate lobbyists buying off politicians, lying to the American public, and failing to deliver on their promises of what weapons could/would be produced.
3) The overall blame for the conspiracy plot for testing an unknown (tumor causing) pharmaceutical on elite military personnel is laid upon ambitious politicians (which is true), but no real vitriol or all encompassing swipes against the pharmaceutical company and sociopathic businessmen that will get the biggest windfall of money from this endeavor.
4) Use of racial slurs like wetbacks to describe Mexican gang members.
5) Derision of the only attorneys willing to protect the civil rights of alleged and convicted criminals as being Harvard training liberal extremists, out of touch with the death row, stripping of rights leanings of the American south. When a character describes an ex-felon that kills her sheriff grandfather, she reprimands fancy Harvard lawyers releasing dangerous criminals into the streets and follows with "who is there to protect us?" this is more of the thinly veiled justification of why you can't trust Harvard lawyers, but instead need to enact vigilantly justice yourself (outside of the law and order system established).
I don't normally give such bad reviews. Again much of the problem with this book is that the political rants and jabs against liberals, university trained folks, and dedicated federal employees took away from the story line.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I am a research chemistry by profession (and a high school science teacher in my early career) so I was extremely excited to have Weir describe complex problems solved with a scientific mehod approach! Really liked this book and loved the narrator! If you geek-out on science talk like I do then you will love this author.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Revisado: 10-13-22
it's fun to root for the criminals when the characters are so fully developed and believable backstories are provided to justify some character flaws. verdugo does an excellent job with creating intriguing new worlds and I can't wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens to Caz and his crew.

The narration was too robotic
Revisado: 08-26-22
Although I am a research chemist whose focus is on environmental contaminants that impact humans and wildlife, I just could not get into this book. I even tried skipping to other chapters, but still could not finish it. The main drawbacks were that the narration was far too robotic and the writing style felt more like reading over clinician notes rather than having a fluid and interesting storyline. I was at times unsure whether the book was read by a person or by the same AI voice technology used by Verizon when calling in for assistance. I had to stop listening after 30 or less of listening.
