The Hollywood Canteen was the jewel in the crown of World War II Hollywood. From 1942 to 1945, over three million servicemen came through its doors on their way to fight in the Pacific - some never to return. There, in a converted barn in the heart of Hollywood, soldiers were fed, entertained by, and danced with some of the biggest stars in the world.

Good Book/Listen… HORRIBLE narration!!!
Revisado: 03-07-24
I really enjoyed the book and movie. What a great tribute to our country’s heroes. But this narrator was absolutely terrible!! He talks like he’s got a mouth full of gum. Mispronounced words and landmarks and even left parts of the book out.

Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. Historia
Marilyn Monroe’s image is so universal that we can’t help but believe that we know all there is to know of her. Every word and gesture made headlines and garnered controversy. Her serious gifts as an actor were sometimes eclipsed by her notoriety - and the way the camera fell helplessly in love with her. But what of the other Marilyn? To confront the mounting difficulties of her life, she wrote.

HORRIBLE NARRATION!!!!!!!
Revisado: 03-29-23
I love the book and I love learning more intricate details about Marilyn, but I. COULD NOT make it through the whole book, The narration is the WORST Ive heard on any audible. She is so bad that I stopped the book at chapter 5 and went and bought the book to read myself.
