I just want to be clear. this is a great book. and I can't stress that enough. I wasn't crazily impressed with the last one. and was worried about the future of this series. But this definitely made up for it 100%

I absolutely love this storyline and detail. In my opinion sean is the best narrator currently out there. I'm not so patiently waiting for the next one

I believe this is the first review on audible. that being said I'm only a bit over an hour in. however historically. it's already earned a 5 star. I love marks writing, and Sean's narration is always on point. another great book.

I'll be honest by saying that the temptation to leave the first review when I first started listening at 2 a.m was very strong. but I wanted to be honest. I absolutely love all of the Talbott universe. the story is great. the performance by Sean is amazing in all his narrations. thank you for continuing to put out quality books with plenty of action. love. Humor and a hefty sprinkle of horror for good measure. if I absolutely had to nit pick something, it would be the accent change for Matthew. great book. Don't stop writing.

It's not easy being king. Especially when you've got an allergy to sunrise and sunset, a fire goddess for a mother-in-law, demonic adversaries, random assassins, and a basement full of insecurities to cope with. Add to that his daughter, the fire priestess/princess; a couple of lightly deranged professional magicians; a whole city full of wizards; and enough squabbling princes to resemble a kindergarten argument. It's enough to make a man want to just go home.

I absolutely love this series so far. it keeps me so involved I don't want to stop listening. and sean runnette is by far my favorite narrator. I love Mark tufo books and and have had a hard time finding audio books that I can stay interested in. these are great

good. but not great

hate to say it but the story line was light. I was so excited about this book and have always been a huge joe pickett fan but this one just didn't feel as immersive. in My opinion it was 6 hours of filler and 3 hours of good listening. and around an hour of the usual greatness. looking for the next one though!
