I’m a 65 year old fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise (don’t judge) and was enchanted by this sweet spin on a loosely based story of Cinderella masterfully blended around a Bachelor reality themed show and a plus sized protagonist with a heart of gold and a pleasant dose of self confidence. I loved everything about it from the first word to the last and, of course, the satisfying ending. There was just an aura of authentic charm and humanity throughout the entire book and the characters all were well rounded. I particularly loved realizing the loud and bossy Beck was Cindy’s “Fairy Godmother.” This title was just a complete treat and I hated for it to end. Thank you Julie Murphy.

This book was so much fun from start to finish. It was engaging and relatable in such a human (and otherworldly) way. I figured out Merritt about midway through and was so happy I was right. The sweet sub plots added texture and charm to the overall story and all the characters were lovely. Even “the villain” was somewhat redeemed at the end. I didn’t want this book to end and will be looking for more from Kirsty Greenwood. Phenomenal narration was the cherry on top. 🍒

This story was well written with lots of avenues that kept adding more and more to the mystery of who dunnit. So many possible suspects and then the final twist! Lots of suspended reality, but it added to fun. The narration was okay but that southern accent got a little annoying (and this is coming from a southern girl! All in all an enjoyable read/listen.

I just LOVE a good ghost story. And this book does not disappoint. There are so many spooky elements that really enrich this plot and I especially love the amazing character development and twisty bits to the crazy yet believable love triangle all set inside a haunted house. Brittany Pressley is a master narrator whose knack for making her many character voices sound unique is quite amazing. It just doesn’t get better than this. Looking forward to more titles by Kiersten Modglin… a new literary favorite!

Penelope had me at Smut Coven. What a fun and fabulous read. I got caught up in every moment. From
The amazing characters to to perfect narration to the lovable story, this book gets high praise. It reminds me a little bit of Babe Walker in White Girl Problems, except all growed up. Loved every bit!

So much about this book is of the suspended believability type, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a fun interesting read. I’m a little offended that the Russian Mob showed up (I’m Russian), but I guess the Russian Mob is fashionable these days 😉. The narration was great and the story was exciting. The love story was sweet and the ending was good. All in all an enjoyable read.

I looked up Sharon Lynn Douglas Fuller Nelson Harrelson online and her photo was perplexingly far different from the way she portrayed in this story. Less Marilyn Monroe and more Aunt Hilda. I don’t get it. I don’t understand her appeal. What a tragic story.

Downloaded this as an Audible Deal of the Day for just a few dollars and wow, am I glad I did!! This story was really well written with interesting well-fleshed out characters and some fun twists and turns. The narration by Brittany Pressley is perfection (of course) and the end came as a complete surprise. I love how not every question was answered at the end giving us readers something to think about. Well done, Mary Kubica. I’ll be looking for more of your titles.

This is one of the most brilliantly written books I’ve read. The metaphors and descriptions and prose is beyond excellent. Each word is expertly chosen to craft a lushly fleshed out story. And while interesting, it is painful from start to finish. The characters are written with such clarity that they are both believable and palpably cringeworthy. It’s not a comfortable story. It’s so melancholy that you feel it, and yet there is a strong underlying message of hope and reconciliation. I would read it again just for linguistic artistry.
