Historia
As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

If you've read Tiny Habits or Atomic Habits then some of these concepts will be familiar, but I enjoyed the new context and additional examples.
Also, I enjoy how he summarizes things for you. It brings back the key points and emphasizes them, which really helps me with the audio especially because I am usually listening while doing something else and can't take notes.

Enjoyable listen
Revisado: 11-11-22
Relatively clean, though there are some adult themes (people talking in bedrooms, innuendoes, some kissing). But no swearing. A bit of violence (they are dragons, after all). Fun plot and characters. Laughed out loud multiple times and frequently looked like an idiot grinning my head off with my earbuds in. Reader was great, especially doing dragon voices. Enjoyed it immensely and will be getting the second book right away. 😉

I really like this reader. He does a very good job. I also enjoy the plot of Conrad's Fate. I can listen to it on my own but my 9 and 12 year old also enjoy it. A bit too involved for the 5 year old.

Enjoyable listen
Revisado: 05-02-21
I got this for a family road trip, and it did the job of distracting us pleasantly very well. I liked the voices the narrator used, and though Howl's accent sounded weird to me at first, it grew on me.
I really enjoy this story. My favorite all-time line, (spoken in Howl's accent):
"Nothing is safe from you. If I were to court a girl who lived on an iceberg in the middle of the ocean, sooner or later— probably sooner— I’d look up to see you swooping overhead on a broomstick. In fact, by now I’d be disappointed in you if I didn’t see you.”

Historia
January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. I love it!
Revisado: 11-04-20
This story is told from multiple perspectives, all through letter or written communication.
Each person is narrated beautifully, and you can tell who is speaking right away.
This is the second time I've listened to this, and it was just as good the second time.
Parents be warned, there is some swearing. And the topic is WWII, so there are scenes described that are gruesome and sad, so you may not want to listen with kids around.

Historia
The colonists from the Pathfinder have arrived on Kaguya, a planet with low gravity but a very dense atmosphere. It’s fun to jump around, but the air makes you loopy - and worse than that, the heavy atmosphere means that wind storms, although rare, are absolutely devastating. Zero and Nyx help to get everything locked down before the first big storm, but they stumble onto a group of thieves who have stolen some mining equipment. Before the kids have a chance to get away and tell anyone, the storm hits and the massive winds carry them far away.

Easy to listen to. The voices were fun. Definitely written for younger readers, but I’m a kid at heart so I didn’t mind that it was a little predictable at times. It was interesting and fun enough that it wasn’t boring. I will definitely listen to it with my kids next time.

Good info, if you can stand being yelled at.
Revisado: 10-29-19
This book is written for beginners in Personal Finance and has a lot of basic and some not so basic info. I've been reading this topic for a while, so much of this was just old ideas stated in a new way, but there were a few gems I hadn't encountered before.
Also, this book gave me confidence that I could take these steps, and helped me implement some aspects that I knew I should do, but that had seemed too hard or too complicated before now.
My major beef with this book is not the content, it is the tone. I was insulted by his "I know more than you" and "I hate idiots who do this" attitude. I'm pretty sure at one point he actually threatened to kill people who did a certain thing he thought was stupid. He also apparently hates a lot of people, judging by how frequently he said, "I hate you" throughout this book.
The whole book was read with dripping sarcasm and asperity, and I literally felt yelled at at several points. There's the risk to reading your own book, I suppose. He was too emotionally connected and it showed in his voice and his venom. I think this book could have done a lot more for me if I hadn't felt so sorry for the idiots he was talking to, and if i hadn't been so angry that he thought anyone who would buy his book must be an idiot.
Also he swore or used examples that swore multiple times to the point that I could not listen to this book around my kids, which is a shame because a lot of this info could do more good if they heard it while they were young and before they went out to make the stupid mistakes he talks about.
Overall, I cannot recommend this book in this format. It might be better in the written format, because you can ascribe any tone you want and pretend he's actually speaking to you with respect like a decent mentor. Another option would be a blinkest or a cliff notes summary, because the info is good, his reading is just offensive.
