Historia
Bryan Cranston landed his first role at seven, when his father, a struggling actor and director, cast him in a United Way commercial. Soon Bryan was haunting the local movie theater, memorizing and reenacting favorite scenes with his older brother. Acting was clearly the boy's destiny - until one day his father disappeared. Suddenly destiny took a backseat to survival. Seeking something more stable, perhaps subconsciously trying to distance himself from his absent father, Cranston decided on a career in law enforcement.

Bryan Cranston is an excellent storyteller. He is real, honest and raw.

First of all, I (mostly) love when the author reads their own book. Especially if it is autobiographical. This was the perfect title. He reads his way through his life "in parts". He has many ups and downs, troubled family life when he is young, he is and was a hard worker, it seams as though nothing was beneath him. To be honest, the first I heard of him was 'Breaking Bad', and I was late to the party! I'm a binge watcher and didn't start until the show was done (but it was on my watchlist). I'm a bit of an insomniac, and my husband was working in Dallas for 2 years.. I managed to watch the entire show, every night, all night, until I fell asleep at 4 am. I was obsessed, it took me only about 6 weeks (or less)!!! I think I may just start all over again 😉 I don't watch much regular TV, I wait to binge. I've never seen 'Malcom in the middle' but plan to watch it now! I really admire the life he has lived thus far. I loved it when she spoke of movie stars verses actors! I truly enjoyed the audio version of this book! I wish him continued success in all that he does. And I hope the he continues to keep grounded and real.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

An absolute must read (or listen)!
Revisado: 07-07-16
I loved this story. I chose to purchase the Audible version to listen when I walk daily and during my long commute to work. I have so many books on my list, that I just didn't want to waste time. I was hoping hoping that the two would meet again some day, until, I knew they wouldn't. When you think of WWII, I think most people just think the concentration camps, the torture and just obscene mistreatment of a human being, personally, I did not know what was going on in France or with the young German girls. This book has lead me in to other research and books. I had been planning a trip back to France this fall and I have added San Malo to my itinerary. I want to be in the moment and try and walk the streets and reflect on what these people endured.
I also thought the narrator did a wonderful job. I would love to see this made in to a film.
