Good message on being productive in life in general. I.e . Having a job. Was hoping for some lessons on increasing productivity from a biblical view. A lot of general advice on focusing on working for the Lord over ourselves. Chapters ended with a prayer reminder on the chapter substance, always asking for forgiveness for sins referenced in chapter. Not sure if pastor who wrote this has ever worked in a professional setting, but “shutting off work for 24 hours” is not very practical. Said the sabbath should be honored, while I agree, even Jesus and his team worked on the sabbath, being blamed for picking grains on the Sabbath. I have to believe that Jesus worked 24/7/365 for 33 years to accomplish an earth changing, world defining purpose for all of us. Tailoring the message for managers, non-managers, etc would be beneficial and potentially life changing for all.

While I appreciate the suggestion, “when deadlines loom, take a day off,” I won’t be taking the day off. Just as I wouldn’t when serving the Lord and he had a project deadline for me.
