Historia
When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves... But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss...

JK Rowling captured how to write pre-teens wonderfully. Her writing aged very well, both in terms of she ages her characters up very well, and as someone doing a re-read for the first time, it's just as good as when I read it when I was young. The story itself is wonderful. You can feel the drama building.

This is a lovely continuation of the series. JK Rowling's writing is wonderful. This series is so well thought out. My only complaint about this audiobook isn't with the story, but with the narration. Again, Jim Dale is fantastic but every now and then portrays certain characters as whining in a certain situation where there is no indication in the text that they are.

This is a really interesting, lovely book. I think the narration serves the writing very well. Roth does not at all come of as pretentious in this writing, although it could be argued that he certainly could. At times, it may start to seem like he's putting himself above the reader, as sometimes happens in 'self-help' books, but then he comes around with a story from his life that reminds you that he is just like the rest of us.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

I absolutely love this series. Honestly, I have no complaints about the story itself here. It's a wonderful 'childrens' story that can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. My only complaint is a small one about the narration. Jim Dale is fantastic, but occasionally his narration for certain characters comes off as incredibly whiny where there is honestly no indication in the writing that the character is whining, particularly with Hermione, Neville, and Ginny.

Wonderful Book
Revisado: 11-04-18
Michelle's writing is wonderful. Her attention to detail, and perseverance to follow this story through really shines through not only in her finished sections of the book, but also the sections pieced together after her passing. I've found that, although this story is primarily about the Golden State Killer, aka EAR/ONS, it isn't without a personal connection that we can all relate to. You can connect to Michelle as a person through her writing; she doesn't just leave you with facts about the case, she lets you connect with her as a person. You understand that she doesn't see the victims of this monster as victims, she sees them as people and she wants you to as well. Michelle wanted so badly to see this case though, and that is so clear in her writing. The pieces finished after her passing are a small departure from her style, but only because there is no way to fully replicate her voice without her here.

By combing through the journals that Hannah has kept for much of her life, this collection of narrative essays delivers a fuller picture of her life, her experiences, and the things she's figured out about family, faith, love, sexuality, self-worth, friendship, and fame. Revealing what makes Hannah tick, this sometimes cringeworthy, poignant collection of stories is sure to deliver plenty of Hannah's wit and wisdom - and hopefully encourage you to try your hand at her patented brand of reckless optimism.

A Lovely, and Touching Story
Revisado: 11-04-18
I've watched Hannah's videos on and off over the years, never on a super regular level, but I've always known I've quite liked her. Even if you, like me, are not a regular viewer, I strongly recommend this book. Hannah's story is very compelling, and she comes off as a wonderful narrator-I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to read her book to me. Her story is one that so many people can relate to, even if you aren't a member of the LGBT community you can relate to her story somewhere along the lines. Her story doesn't 100% focus on the creation of her youtube channel, hence why I don't think you have to be a massive fan of hers to want to read her book, because you won't be left out of the loop at any point. Hannah seems like such a sweet, caring person; her light, honesty, persistence, and personality really shine through in this.

Wonderful Book
Revisado: 11-04-18
I'm very happy with this audiobook. I was a bit hesitant initially about what my thoughts would be, about the chapters being read by different people but I actually think that, particularly for this book, it works very well. The narration from everyone involved is very well done and fits the story by Margaret Atwood very well. The story itself is very well written. It's a story that has aged very well, particularly in the current political climate, much like 1984 or Farenhight 451. Atwood is a beautiful storyteller. She really immerses you in the world she is creating, and you really feel a strong connection with her characters. If you're wanting to read the book before, or after, watching the Hulu series, or regardless of the series, I strongly recommend this version.

Decent Read
Revisado: 11-04-18
The overall story is quite good. As the title implies, it is a collection of short stories centered around one central character. I was somewhat expecting this book to be somewhat related to Hinton's writings about Tulsa, and it's not. Even still, it is a good read and a good series of short stories. The stories are woven together well, and each one individually is a good story. It's not a book I'm super compelled to read again soon, but I wouldn't be mad at it if someone wanted to listen to it on a road trip.

Very Sweet Story
Revisado: 11-04-18
As an adult who has a soft spot for children's books, I quite enjoyed this book. I'm a fan of Kate DiCamillo's work, and if you are as well you, or your child(ren) will love this book too. Sure, it has a fairly simple plot, but most children's books do-it is somewhat clearly a chapter book for newer readers but really isn't a dumbed down novel for those readers. It's such a sweet story, anyone can enjoy it.
