Written by Naoki Higashida, a very smart, very self-aware, and very charming thirteen-year-old boy with autism, The Reason I Jumpis a one-of-a-kind memoir that demonstrates how an autistic mind thinks, feels, perceives, and responds in ways few of us can imagine. Parents and family members who never thought they could get inside the head of their autistic loved one at last have a way to break through to the curious, subtle, and complex life within.

This book offers such a unique perspective, and inside perspective on people with ASD. I highly recommend for all, but especially those raising children with ASD.

Must listen to horror story.
Revisado: 08-12-21
I’m horrible at these things, so bear with me. This book is extremely well written and clever. The characters are well built making them likable and relatable. Diggory is a well meaning, caring, though he’d rather not admit that, flawed, traumatized character that you route for to win, and know that he will. Alisha (no idea how spell that) is the absolute perfect compliment to Diggory.
I won’t go into plot details, but this is full of creepy crawlies that filled my sleep last night and probably tonight too. Terrifying.
There are so many sayings in this book that had me relating Diggory to my husband and made me laugh out loud.
I could read Chris Philbrook's grocery list and be happy and entertained, but this book (series) is amazing.
Last of all, Joe Hempel lends his voice to another scary ass book and his performance is as good as it gets. He never disappoints.

“Literary Popcorn”
Revisado: 04-14-21
This book is absolutely a thrill ride you don’t want to end, just like popcorn you can’t stop eating. JD Barker is a favorite author of mine. I devour every word he writes in record time, never disappointed.
The narrators both nailed their narratives and flowed well to further enhance the book.
Get this one. You won’t be disappointed and you won’t be able to stop listening!

As always, this book did not disappoint. Many twists and turns that keep you wanting more. And one shocker in the book which I won’t talk about. Is this a new leaf for Joe?
Santino Fontana embodies Joe - 100%. Everybody has their own voice and Santino is so phenomenal.
Fingers crossed for a 4th book...

Somewhat typical storyline former foster child, who is easily fooled into an abusive relationship with a handsome charismatic man, the first half of the book was rather predictable and repetitive. With 4 hours left, that all changed into something I couldn’t stop listening to. What an ending!

Impressed by James Comey
Revisado: 04-27-18
What made the experience of listening to A Higher Loyalty the most enjoyable?
James Comey tells different stories about his life that shaped him into the man he is today. He focuses on ethics and morals as opposed to a political party, though he leaned right in his life. Hearing the respect and admiration he has for ethical values of leaders over differing views of politics was why I listened to this book.
What does James Comey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Hearing him say his own words is something I can't do in my own head. It adds a great deal of emphasis on areas where he wanted more emphasis. His own emotions and inflections in places where it's helpful to remember the person behind the headlines.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
When James Comey talks about his wife's many strengths and sacrifices, I can tell the level of respect and love he has for her. It's beautiful. The story of their son's death and how she handled it, and helped the family handle it is awe inspiring. Patiently waiting for her book now. :)
Any additional comments?
This will be a book I return to often for the listen and the lessons that can be gained from James Comey sharing his life lessons with the readers.
I wish that that media wouldn't have focused so hard on the last third of this book. The story is more interesting in the rest of the book than it is about the president, though it's important to tell that too. There are so many moral and ethical lessons that should have been talked about. It's so much more than the media lead is to believe. I guess it's what sells.

Well written story, but not for me.
Revisado: 10-20-17
I’m a die hard Ambrose Ibsen fan, but this story just didn’t have the impact his books normal have for me. It was well written, but I found myself drifting and not always paying attention. I can’t quite put my finger on why. It didn’t captivate me like the Demon Hearted series did.

Howdy. My name's Lucian Colt. I'm one of those disgruntled millennials you've heard about on the evening news. I've got a master's degree in art history, a mountain of student loan debt, and no job to show for it. Wait, scratch that. I track down stolen pieces of art for wealthy clients and then beat whoever stole them to within an inch of their life. Say what you will, but it puts bread on the table.

Would you listen to Raw Power: An Urban Fantasy Novel again? Why?
Absolutely! The writing is terrifically detailed and inventively creative. The characters have depth and you can relate to them. The narrator is absolutely amazing with voices for each character. His performance is the right pace and the story travels along with out dragging in any spot.
