Historia
All his life, Max Lerner has watched from the stands as the heroes and villains of professional wrestling do battle in the ring. Max happens upon the hand-painted sign outside Barry’s Flea Market: Live Pro Wrestling Tuesdays. His passion drives him to step out from the crowd and step through the ropes to experience the world of pro-wrestling for himself. Now, he just needs to figure out who to be.

Not Just for Wrestling Fans!
Revisado: 05-24-21
I have never cared much for Pro Wrestling..save for the oddball careers of the few 1980's personalities (Lou Albano, Andre the Giant, Roddy Piper, etc) who "crossed over" to the general entertainment world. so I approached Jordan Weinfurtner's RUNNING THE ROPES with a fair amount of skepticism.
My apprehension was unfounded, because from the first page on, this funny charming novel had me in a headlock and never let me go! Max's transition from a "wrestling church' super-fan to a bona-fide pro wrestling sensation is a wild ride, and Weinfurtner's experience makes it all ring true.
Mark Watson has the herculean task of portraying all of the heroes and "heels" that Max encounters (as well as Max himself), both in and out of their ring characters, and he makes them all unique, funny and poignant as needed...an epic performance! Highly recommended!
