Love it!!

Read this when it came out years ago; got myself the audible version recently as a re-read…It is nothing short of AMAZING how Crichton foretold what is basically happening now with human evolution/the internet/globalization/the media. Malcom’s character makes a great (opiated-up LoL, poor Malcolm, he really doesn’t have much luck on these trips!!) delivery for some great scientific info that will make you want to read everything you can lay ahold of on subjects from evolutionary biology to symbiotic relationships (that yucca plant tho!!!) to computer programming!! I also really enjoyed Levine’s character, such a realistic portrait of the modern isolated, selfish person; but still likeable! And the character of Harding was pretty great as well—a little clunky and Mary-Sue, sure, but Crichton was definitely one of the first to start writing good female leads! The narration was excellent; the only thing I dislike about this book is that I enjoy it so much that it makes me sad about Crichton’s passing all over again.
Don’t listen to the bad reviews—-not everyone likes technical science; and if you do, this book is amazing!!!

Glaringly fake and poor southern accent

Good grief, who told the narrator to fake a southern accent? It sounds absolutely ridiculous. Her accent is atrocious; I can’t believe anyone in production heard this and thought it was a good idea. It really takes away from the story. Other than that, great book and good narration
