Cute little story!
Revisado: 10-24-18
My son enjoyed this cute little story! The audio quality wasn't the greatest, there is significant background noise, but it isn't too distracting.

Great story!
Revisado: 10-24-18
I started out listening to book two of this series and was a little spoiled by that narrator. in comparison, this narrator was a little clunky and spoke in an odd way, but it wasn't too terrible.
I did struggle with getting a sense for this book's third rail, there were so many characters (I had trouble keeping the girls straight) and none of the original scenes seemed to be moving the story forward in any organized manner. There were a few things that jerked me out of willing suspension of disbelief, mostly things the adult characters did or said that didn't seem realistic.
About the halfway mark, things picked up though! I knew I liked this author, so I stuck with it because she tells a good story.
While I disagree with some of the theology contained in the book, I do think it is perfectly fine and on the level of YA or younger. :)
The stakes in the story were set very well and it highlighted some important issues for teenagers to think about. Overall, it was a fun ride! I would recommend starting with book two, Twisted Faith, and listened to this one as a prequel.

Historia
Abby Stein is young, smart, and obedient. But even obedient girls can make a mistake once in a while. While most girls learn a lesson and move on, Abby isn't allowed to do that. When a poor choice at a party leaves Abby pregnant and alone, her overly religious parents and church community will make her life so miserable that she's forced to consider suicide as her only way out. With nowhere else to turn, Abby makes a desperate call from the parking lot of New Hope Christian Church.

Heartbreaking Story, Excellent Narration
Revisado: 10-18-18
This story hit close to home for me as I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian community. It shines a light into the darkness of the realities of living in many of these abusive, cult-like homes.
The narrators were incredible, bringing the already well-written story to life.
The only issues I encountered were a few repetitive portions of text and some stiff language (for a teenage character anyway) that briefly jostled me out of the story.
