Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

Easy Listen and Sad But Great Story
Revisado: 03-05-23
I thought this book flowed very well and appreciated all the little details shared throughout it. Although I figured the ending out (somewhat) pretty early on, it didn’t matter, I still couldn’t stop listening.

She suffered horrific wounds to her lungs, liver, stomach and uterus, whilst the knife missed her baby by a margin of two millimetres, before the arteries in her wrists were methodically severed by the attacker she finally realised was her partner. Honestly had a hard time turning it off! The reader did an excellent job keeping me on the edge of my seat wanting to hear more. A very tragic true story with a most triumphant ending. I hope Natalie and her girls are continuing to heal and grow closer -will always be thinking of them as the book made me feel so connected. Loved it!

Historia
Gloria Burtzlaff feared for her life one day back in April of 1991 when her abusive husband, Larry, drunk and violent, slapped her, hit her, and began pelting her with glasses. After he tried to drown her in a tub, she got the family shotgun and confronted him in his underwear. “Larry, I’m going to kill you,” she declared. Defense lawyers would later claim he lifted a glass as if to say, “Have at it, sister.” Have at It, Sister is a true-crime tale about Gloria, a South Dakota woman who shot her abusive husband and was put on trial in a precedent-setting case.

Easy to follow …..
Revisado: 12-13-22
I appreciated the writer sharing more of the story than the legal lingo that can make books like this difficult to follow. The narrator was nice to listen to and I enjoyed the “skits” or “re-enactments” making it more entertaining. Overall a good book
