Definitely a "cosy crime series"
Revisado: 09-29-18
I enjoy these short mysteries. I love the setting, in the small town of Cherringham, England. I like the characters. I just wish the main characters--Jack and Sarah--would get together. Looks like there will be some changes ahead, though.

Historia
In her late 20s, Cait Flanders found herself stuck in the consumerism cycle that grips so many of us: earn more, buy more, want more, rinse, repeat. Even after she worked her way out of nearly $30,000 of consumer debt, her old habits took hold again. When she realized that nothing she was doing or buying was making her happy - only keeping her from meeting her goals - she decided to set herself a challenge: she would not shop for an entire year. The Year of Less documents Cait's life for 12 months during which she bought only consumables.

A thought provoking book about minimalism
Revisado: 09-29-18
I am trying to live a more minimalist life. I found the book thought provoking. The author spent a year without shopping--except within specific parameters. I would like to try something similar, but so far I don't have the will power. Boo.

Historia
Lenore Skenazy called down a firestorm of controversy when she wrote a newspaper column about letting her nine-year-old ride alone on the New York City subway. In this plainspoken take on modern parenting, Skenazy offers a commonsense approach to letting kids be kids.

Interesting to think about
Revisado: 07-29-18
Free range parenting is an interesting concept in this helicopter parenting world. I have three kids. I really thought about the points the author made about free range parenting, as I made decisions about what I feel comfortable with as a parent.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

What did you love best about Goodbye, Things?
I was ready to embrace more minimalism in my life, so this book came at just the right time. I went home and immediately got rid of some items I had been holding onto.

Quirky, unexpected and funny

I don't remember why I purchased this, but I'm glad I did. It was quirky and funny. I actually laughed out loud while I was listening to it.
