Worst Audiobook of All Time
Revisado: 12-17-22
This is the absolute worst book I’ve listened to in my library of over 2,000 books. Not only is it totally unrealistic (which can work when done well) but it goes on and on and on and on about absolute drivel. And then it goes on and on and on and on about the hallucinations the protagonist is having—literally chapters of hallucinations. I have a hard time understanding why a publisher would agree to publish such complete garbage. Don’t waste your money.

Historia
Preston and Constance Whittier have built a happy life together, with a brood of six children raised in a beautiful historic Manhattan mansion. Now, with a nearly empty nest, it’s easier than ever for the Whittiers to maintain their tradition of a solo romantic “Wintermoon” ski trip. But with this year’s trip comes tragedy, and suddenly the Whittier’s adult children find themselves reuniting in the family home without their parents for the first time ever. The eldest four are forced to put aside their personal issues and their grief to keep the family together.

Repetitive repetitive repetitive
Revisado: 12-01-22
I don’t know how Danielle Steele gets away with turning out one garbage book after another. This is especially bad. No plot. Just repeats the same thing over and over and over again. Save your money.

With over 1,600 audiobooks in my library, I rarely write a review, but this is an excellent book with a unique storyline. The characters are compelling and the subject matter is thought-provoking. I listened all in one day because I wanted to see what happened next. This book is one that I’m going to remember.

Worst Narrator ever
Revisado: 07-09-22
Ugh, narrator is just AWFUL. Too much tension in her voice and excessive, aggravating, shrill whining. The worst. Do not recommend.

Meh..okay but not great
Revisado: 06-05-22
Unique story line and relatable characters, but way too many sex scenes. Nearly ever chapter has a sex scene which I found pretty annoying. Not convinced it’s worth a full credit.

Worst. Narrator. Ever.
Revisado: 05-06-22
I have 1,639 audiobooks on my phone, and this book has the worst narration I’ve ever heard. It literally ruins the book it’s so awful. The story isn’t as good as the previous two.

The Worst book in a great series
Revisado: 12-27-21
Two thirds of the book is Keller’s monologue on the logistics of his rental car, stealing cars, and finding hotels. It’s excruciatingly boring. I can’t believe how bad this book is. Major disappointment.

After watching too many family members die of cancer, at age 28, public speaker and comedian Caitlin Brodnick was tested for the BRCA1 gene mutation and tested positive, indicating an 87% chance she'd likely be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. She had a preventative double mastectomy, thereby becoming an everywoman's Angelina Jolie. Dangerous Boobies: Breaking Up with My Time-Bomb Breasts goes in depth into her experience from testing to surgery and on to recovery.

Author/Narrator’s Voice Ruins it
Revisado: 12-24-21
The content and message are great and I applaud the author’s courage in sharing her personal details with the world. The problem is with the narrator’s gushing voice and jokes that try too hard to be funny. Unless you enjoy the idea of being read to by an immature 16-year old girl, I recommend you avoid the audio version.

Underwhelming
Revisado: 12-04-21
I love the Scarpetta series and this book is disappointingly boring. Not bad. Not great. Having the same narrator for Eve Dallas and Kay Scarpetta is a big mistake and I had to remind myself more than once which series I was listening to.
