Historia
A rousing, suspenseful debut novel - True Grit meets Catch Me If You Can - based on the forgotten true story of a Robin Hood of the American frontier who pulls off the first successful kidnapping for ransom in US history. Once the most wanted man in America, Pat Crowe is a forgotten folk hero who captivated the nation as an outlaw for economic justice.

Terribly depressing and boring
Revisado: 06-27-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The preview did not really give the feel of the book with True Grit and Robin Hood. The was a real criminal and if I had read Wikipedia before on Pat Crowe, there is no way I would have chose this book. So turned off, I couldn't continue Book 2 of the book. The narrator is one of my favorites but he could not save this book. I chose the book because of him in the first place as I have read so many of his narrated books.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I will go back to Michael J Sullivan's books with Tim Gerard Reynold's narration.
Would you be willing to try another one of Tim Gerard Reynolds’s performances?
Most of the books I read are by him. I love his narration--the content of this book was not a good match for him and his skills.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger, sadness, disappointment. hard to follow jumps in years. Boring

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Listened to it twice by two different readers
Revisado: 07-01-15
Where does All the Light We Cannot See rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Number one.
What did you like best about this story?
It was about the people during WWII not about the war itself. It is a book that has to be read on a steady basis because of the jumping around of dates and characters especially in the beginning.
What about Zach Appelman’s performance did you like?
Good performance
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The rescue and eating the canned peaches and the very end. The shock of Werner's death.
Any additional comments?
I would like to see an alternate ending with happier outcome...if it becomes a movie which I think it should be.

Historia
History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

Loved the accents and performance
Revisado: 07-01-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Winter Sea to be better than the print version?
Yes, because of the Scottish accents in the reading. Wouldn't be near the fun to have to read to yourself.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Graham, easy going, strong character, wit
Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, a little.
Any additional comments?
Would have got a 5 star except for the ending. Didn't like the ending because of the departure without the daughter. Find that hard to believe even in those times.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

Stopped reading about a third into it.
Revisado: 07-01-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Could we stop writing books with the same basic theme of sub-humans turning into ??? to eat human flesh. Wasted my money.
Has The Girl with All the Gifts turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Finty Williams?
It was the plot and theme of the book which was offensive.
What character would you cut from The Girl with All the Gifts?
The hungries
Any additional comments?
I wasted my $$$---my fault in not reading the plotline.
