Historia
How do we love in a time of rage? How do we fix a broken world while not breaking ourselves? Valarie Kaur - renowned Sikh activist, filmmaker, and civil rights lawyer - describes revolutionary love as the call of our time, a radical, joyful practice that extends in three directions: to others, to our opponents, and to ourselves. It enjoins us to see no stranger but instead look at others and say: You are part of me I do not yet know. Starting from that place of wonder, the world begins to change.

Powerful story telling and messages
Revisado: 03-26-24
This author is an intelligent, well spoken and incredible storyteller. She brings him into the story and often bring tears to your eyes. With her sincerity and truth, I learned so much about the Sikh culture and religion. So many soft, provoking and deep topic. Love this book and would recommend it to any of my female friends and many of my more open male friends as well.

Great plot, I was engaged the whole way through
Revisado: 02-24-24
I really like the story and the plot, the characters are wonderful. The only thing I would say is that the author was quite repetitive from the first book in certain sections to the point where it was literally a copy and paste of a whole paragraph. That said it didn’t take away from the unique story, in this book compared to Last. I will definitely read the next one.

Historia
Being in a relationship without knowing how to share your feelings and receive your partner’s feelings in useful ways is like jumping into a pool without knowing how to swim. You can flail around all you want, but it’s not going to keep you afloat for very long—you need to be able to move in any direction at will. Like swimming, knowing how to share your feelings and respond to your partner's feelings will move your relationship in the direction you want: toward more intimacy, closeness, connection, and trust.

Applicable advice!
Revisado: 02-02-24
Very clear and applicable advice. Not too long and to the point. Something may be a little impractical for certain situations, and examples were sometimes so specific that it was hard to apply to my situation. However, overall, I would say very useful and very much worth reading.

Fun and what you’d expect
Revisado: 02-16-23
A fun thriller, well written and produced. Ray Porter is a great narrator and does the characters very well. The story itself was a little hard to follow at times because it jumps around a bit from place to place, time to time and between characters a lot. Overall it’s worth the listen if you like political/tactical thrillers.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

With Kafka on the Shore, Haruki Murakami gives us a novel every bit as ambitious and expansive as The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, which has been acclaimed both here and around the world for its uncommon ambition and achievement, and whose still-growing popularity suggests that it will be read and admired for decades to come.

Very interesting; but a bit confusing and vague at times
Revisado: 01-22-23
Very interesting writing and wonderful narration, but at times it was confusing and the end was a bit vague and disappointing. In my opinion there were several unanswered questions at the end.

Great story, amazing performance
Revisado: 02-17-21
I loved the narration of this book, she was so talented. It sounded like several actors in a movie and all the emotions were beautifully captured. Also a fabulous story, well written and entertaining, but wouldn’t have been near as good with a lesser performer.
