Historia
This is a young nurse's confession. In it, she retells her morally questionable sexual encounters in a way that is refreshingly frank and highly arousing. However, there is much more to her tale than just the story of her salacious career. She wants to impart knowledge, too. Between each sexually charged chapter of her life, Maria writes openly about oral sex and what she's learned through years of practice. Everything you've ever wanted to know, and maybe some things you never even thought of, are within these pages.

Very Informative AND Pretty Sexy
Revisado: 07-09-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to my friends because it uses a great format to share information that can be embarrassing to discuss.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the fact that the main character, Maria, is a nurse making her knowledge of oral sex believable. There was no ridiculous background story and overall that made it easier for me to get into the story.
Which scene was your favorite?
The first oral sex scene/description was my favorite since it sets the tone for the entire book. I don't want o spoil anything, but it was a great introduction.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Maria gives a new meaning to the title "Head Nurse".
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this audiobook and recommend it to anyone who is looking for an erotic story that also educates. Its nice to be entertained while educated by someone who obviously spent time doing some research prior to writing.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Fantastic Fantasy Adventure

Any additional comments?
It has been a long time since I found a new fantasy series that I enjoyed as much as some of my original favorites. The narrator of this book is awesome and did a great job of bringing an amazing story to life. While the story does start off a little slow, it is worth it in the end AND the slow start actually has a purpose. The audiobook was good that after listening to it once and I immediately listened to it one more time.

Historia
In September 2007, Elissa Wall, the star witness against polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs, gave captivating testimony of how Jeffs forced her to marry her first cousin at age 14. This harrowing account proved to be the most compelling evidence against Jeffs, showing the harsh realities of this closed community and the lengths to which Jeffs went in order to control the sect's women. Now, in this courageous memoir, Wall tells the incredible story of how she emerged from the confines of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and helped bring one of America's most notorious criminals to justice.

I don't even know where to begin with this one. Getting through this audiobook was like pulling teeth.
I was looking forward to this book since I have recently read Escape and Shattered Dreams. I was hoping to continue the streak, but I knew right away this book wasn't going to be for me.
First of all, the narration was really bad. The reader put emphasis on almost all of the wrong words and just grated on my nerves. It was distracting and annoying making it impossible to get into the book.
Second, while I admire the author for overcoming a hard life and sharing her story the book is extremely frustrating. So many things are, as other reviewers mentioned, completely glossed over. She doesn't really go in depth when discussing certain situations that are interesting (or have the potential to be interesting), but she over-elaborates on some of things that aren't really pivotal to the story. Also, some of the conversations seem contrived but to be fair I felt the same way about some of the conversations in Escape.
Overall I am not happy with this book and am going to contact Audible today and try to get my money back. This was extremely far from being a great listen.

Historia
Warning: You may have a huge, invisible spider living in your skull. This is not a metaphor. You will dismiss this as ridiculous fearmongering. Dismissing things as ridiculous fearmongering is, in fact, the first symptom of parasitic spider infection - the creature secretes a chemical into the brain to stimulate skepticism, in order to prevent you from seeking a cure. That’s just as well, since the “cure” involves learning what a chain saw tastes like. You can’t feel the spider, because it controls your nerve endings.

This was one of my best Audible investments.
I purchased this book because I am a sucker for anything that even hints at Zombies. After reading reviews I chose to skip John Dies at the End and go straight to this audiobook (the sequel) and for those who are on the fence it is safe to skip to the sequel if JDATE is not something you are interested in checking out.
The story of two not very bright and/or prepared friends stumbling through a crazy Zombie like infestation is hilarious. There is a ton of profane language and I adored every single one of them. Added bonus was the narrator. He is GREAT and I am interesting in buying a few audiobooks only because he narrated them.

Historia
Originally published in 1988, Ray Garton's second novel, after his stunning debut with Live Girls, is regarded as a classic of the "splatterpunk" movement in horror fiction. Garton has a way with teenage boredom, atmospheric small-town isolation, incest, drug abuse and over-the-top violence and he has managed to create a modern re-make of the story of the Pied Piper with a sinister character, Crucifax, appearing on the scene, seducing mixed-up kids with his siren song of pleasure, power and indulgence.

I purchased Crucifax just because I wanted to try something different and I had a credit to spare. I usually don't purchase audiobooks that have no reviews, but my research online encouraged me to take a chance on this audiobook.
The Good:
Originally published in 1988 this story did have a bit of a "dated" feel to it BUT I loved it. I was a kid in the 80's (sorry my age is showing) and a few parts of the story made me think of my brother's stories of his 80's high school years. I did occasionally get that "ripped from the headlines" feel meaning parts of the story sensationalized what adults and the media believe teens will do when influenced by the "wrong" things.
The bulk of the story followed teenage siblings who are dealing with their parents divorce, usual teen stress, and (prepare yourself) incest fantasies. The mother of the main characters is also featured as she struggles to support herself and two teenagers with a variety of less than savory jobs. Throughout the book the teens and their peers are seduced by a mysterious man who seems determined to influence as many teenagers as possible.
The Bad:
The narrator is absolutely horrible. I am completely serious. This narrator was so bad I almost gave up on listening to a story that I ended up really enjoying. His attempt to portray female characters came across as annoying most of the time and ludicrous all of the time. It was really, embarrassingly, bad.
In a perfect world a male narrator should be able to handle male characters just fine. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world. Some of this male characters sounded like whiny fools making it hard to truly listen to the story and get lost in it. Other male characters just sounded ridiculous.
In the end I gave this audiobook a 3 star rating because I was able to power through the audiobook and was happy that I did. The story is a good one even though it is a bit dated and has the after school special feel. If it was rerecorded with a better narrator I think this would be an amazing listen and a solid 4 star listen losing only one star because of the (in my opinion) flaws in the story.

Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Truly Creepy and Thoroughly Enjoyable
Revisado: 05-16-13
What did you love best about NOS4A2?
I absolutely loved the character development in NOS4A2 and the way the story shifted between the perspective of multiple characters. The small nods to Stephen King works were also a nice touch.
What other book might you compare NOS4A2 to and why?
Swan Song and IT
What about Kate Mulgrew’s performance did you like?
The narrator did a wonderful job of giving a voice to both male and female characters. A few times she sounded so menacing that I literally jumped when a coworker came into my office and startled me.
