As the character said, "Stop circling!"

I've never written an Audible review before but I felt this title needed one. I usually thoroughly enjoy listening to a good JD Robb while on my frequent trips up and down I95. This time though, I found myself wanting to fast forward through to the final denouement in interview. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed Susan Erickson's interpretation of the characters. I find myself "hearing" her voices even when I'm reading from the page. But even she couldn't keep my interest through the constant rehashing of characters and motive. At one point in the narrative a character says "Stop circling!" and I wanted to shout "Hallelujah!". I feel like this story would have been better as a novella/.5 intead of a full fledged novel. Skip to the wake scene and save yourself some tedium. Things pick up after that. That being said, I'm counting down to the next installment of Eve and Roark.

I usually enjoy the Brigerton books but i found this one hard to finish. Towards the end of the book I actually skipped 4 chapters and didn't lose any of the plot! There was a lot of unnecessary repetition and re-explanation of motivations that should have been eliminated. I don't believe this was one of her better books but I'll probably read the next one of the series.

I never miss a Sandford book. I most like to read them as audio books on long, boring drives because the plots and action always hold my attention. I've never been disappointed by them and this one is another stellar entry. Letty as an adult is just as ferocious and smart as the teenage version. Her side kick, John Kaiser, at first tries to reign her in. They both eventually figure out that things work better when they act as a team. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

I wondered whether this book would be a disappointment since I loved the previous series so much. It's 1:15 am and I'm bleary eyed because I stayed up to finish listening to the book. It was fast paced and relevant. I loved the by play between the Old Dog Charlie and his younger, gung ho protege. I'm so glad the Merry Outlaws are back but I did wonder what happened to Svetlana and Aleksander from the previous books. We never did find out why it was just Charlie and Abuela at the ranch. Where's the rest of the family?

I often listen to books in my car but this time I found it difficult to understand the reader so I turned the volume up full blast. This wouldn't have been an issue but the beginning of this book was really, really boring. I understand Sandford was trying to build motivation for the murders but I just couldn't care less about who was banging who and why and who was jealous of whom. (spoiler) In the end none of it mattered anyway. Maybe it was the titillation of lesbians as main characters. This book could have been 8 chapters shorter. I skipped to the last 4 chapters and didn't miss much. Won't be reading this one again.

Tiger is a character that touches the heart. He is innately good and unrelenting in his efforts to do what's right. And yet there is a vulnerability about him that is endearing. More Tiger please!

I have read the entire series and loved this newest addition. The readers did an excellent job conveying the story. Ms Harper keeps me coming back to Mystic Bayou and all the quirky characters. Nicely done!

What a snoozer! The heroine was irritating and the hero was so smug. I skipped to the end.

What would have made Tangle of Need better?

I am a big fan of this series so I was excited to read the next book. I am sorry to say that this is the first psy-changeling book that I didn't finish. I hated the main characters. The sexual tension that was supposed to be between the two main characters never seemed to gel. Instead, it was irritating. I gave up after Chapter four. Don't waste your credit.

Has Tangle of Need turned you off from other books in this genre?

no, I'm hoping she'll go back to the formula that has been so successful.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Angela Dawe?

yes

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Tangle of Need?

the hero was a jerk and the female lead was a prickly pear. nothing redeeming to be found here.
