The narrator is SO good
Revisado: 11-12-24
One thing for me about a book, if the narrator isn't good or at least tolerable, I cannot and will not finish a book let alone a series. Kira Fizx does an amazing job, her voices were clear, concise, and I always knew who was speaking even before she stated it. A narrator can make our break a book and Melanie Cellier always has great narrators. I enjoyed the story and was engaged through the entire series! Happy listening!!

Historia
After a lifetime of rejection, seamstress Evie can't trust Frederic, the crown prince of Lanover - not his words of friendship or the way the warmth in his eyes seems to ask for even more. But when they end up on a tour of his kingdom - one filled with increasing danger - Evie's mistrust might doom them all. In this spin on the classic fairy tale, an ugly duckling must discover her true worth in order to save her kingdom and maybe even find true love.

Good series
Revisado: 09-24-23
I have been caught up in this series all week. I listened to all 5 books, and will start the next box series as well. I love fairy tale retellings and listening to books with accents different than my own so I enjoyed the narration, however the narrator tends to swallow very loudly during pauses, I think this is a personal annoyance that maybe only I notice. Occasionally I have to skip back bc her voice becomes background noise, but otherwise, great stories!

Great narration
Revisado: 12-12-22
I enjoyed the sequel to the story, it was a little slow to start, but developed more into who Naema (sp?) is. I think the best part is the narration, the differentiation in character voices is impeccable, her transitions are smooth, and the individualized inflections used for each gives the characters personality.

Nice tie in and conclusion
Revisado: 11-17-22
This one was pretty good, and tied up the loose ends of the first book. (There is a third, but I haven't found it to be necessary to the storyline. I listened to it just bc it was free and part of the series.)

Historia
Emma, half human and half Syrena, and her Syrena love, Galen, need time together - alone. Away from the kingdoms of Poseidon and Triton. Emma's grandfather, the Poseidon king, suggests the two visit a small town called Neptune. Neptune is home to both Syrena and Half-Breeds alike. But Emma and Galen didn't sign up to be peacemakers between the ocean and the land-dwelling, freshwater Syrena. They didn't bargain for meeting a charming Half-Breed named Reed, who can barely disguise his feelings for Emma.

Not nearly as good as the first 2 books
Revisado: 11-17-22
This third book was lacking and just didn't tie in well with the other two books. The first 2 were pretty good, this one I was just ready for the end. Emma became very annoying and the "villains" were, too. The narrator did excellent with all of the various character voices.

Irritated I took so long to listen to this book.
Revisado: 06-02-22
I don't even know if I like the storyline, the narrator is absolutely awful! Her voice and dialect are excruciatingly annoying and she would pause so long sometimes that I often thought the book had just stopped. The voice variations for the characters had very little differentiation other than more annoying. I read one review that said once you get past the narrator, the story was pretty good, I couldn't get there. Plus, the story doesn't flow well to me. I wish I would have started listening a long time ago when I purchased it so I still had the option to return it, that's the only reason I'm still listening.

Not her best work
Revisado: 05-29-22
This book was frustrating, the story became very predictable because characters were so one dimensional. They made painstakingly obvious dumb decision after dumb decision and they were so physically weak and inept (despite how active they were described) it was embarrassing. The Scooby-Doo reference was pretty accurate. And still, I give it 3 stars because despite catching on to how each scenario was going to play out, I still had the desire to finish it, with hope there was redemption in the end, there was very little there, but I finished it.

Revisado: 04-03-22
I am absolutely so glad I listened to this audiobook! I downloaded it awhile back and just never got around to it, but when I finally did, I was hooked. I love Kevin Hart and to hear him tell such truths about himself and what he's learned made me see him in a new light. The lessons he's learned and ultimately is teaching through his story have made me look at things differently, given me a motivation I had lost. I honestly want my 17 year old to listen to it. I highly recommend, I mean, I finished all, what 15 hours (?), in 2 days. His personality just exudes through his words!
