Worth every penny

What an incredible story this is! It's filled with lush detail and such an interesting plot and complex characters that the final chapter leaves any reader hungry for the next book. It's a great epic fantasy story of Vilmos a young mage, Adrina a princess of a dying land, and the elf Seth. The book is superbly written, with rich English language. The well-described characters, rich world and vivid descriptions are incredible. Mr. Stanek is definately going to be one of the greats, right along with Tolkien, Rowling, Carroll, Alexander, Lewis, and Dahl. I can't wait to see where he'll go when he's finished this. Buy it for yourself then for your family, then your friends, then the people you meet on the street.

The epic adventure continues! As prophecy becomes reality, the factions struggle for control, only to further divide the lands. Some would say that King Andrew Alder foolishly agreed to support the Elves of the Reaches, sending men to aid their cause when the causes of all men in all lands were being put to the test of steel. And in the North, men back their words with action.

Great for all ages!

This was one of the most literally enchanting books I have read all summer including the latest installment of the Harry Potter series. Great characters from the young hero Vilmos, to the mentor Xith, to the ally Seth, and the lovely Adrina, and of course Valam. Great writing, terrific adventure, a MUST READ for any fastasy fan. It has a mixture of Middle-Earth and Narnia elements. I find myself looking forward to the next installments more than any other book.
