Amazing Story

The narration was perfect for this story. I was, at times, deeply moved by the fight and plight of these two young girls and their reconnection with their father. The only criticism that I have is that I want more. I want to find out what happened to all of the characters in this book. It just whet my appetite. I will be looking or for more from this author.

Nothing is as it seems

One of her best yet. Sometimes love his you when you lay expect it, sometimes evil isn't really evil and good isn't airways right. Confused? Read the book. I think I loved a the characters in this book by the end, no hate left in me just a deeper understanding that no matter what the intentions we can all make mistakes and we can all be judged for them,for better or worse. Kitty Bang again did an everywhere job with the narration and now if you'll excuse me I need to read book 2 which unfortunately isn't available in audio dammit.

I really struggled with this audible. I have never openly bagged a narrators performance before but this book in its written firm was quite enjoyable but as an audio book with this narrator nearly appalling. To say that i struggled to finish listening to it would be an understatement inv the end I had to finish it in kindle form I just couldn't listen to the heating commentary anymore. The matador was far too dramatic and I do not feel that she understood the characters at all. In my opinion a good narration enhances the story, it is in the telling if it that you lose yourself over to the story. In this instance it felt like nails on a chalk board. Do yourself a favor, get the kindle version and skip the audio.

My Favourite yet

What did you love best about The Highwayman?

The relationship between Dorian & Farah is so beautiful more than star crossed lovers their love defies the stars.

Which character – as performed by Derek Perkins – was your favorite?

It is too hard to choose a favourite they were so beautifully written they each had a quality that endeared them, whether they were a Harlot of Whitechapel or a Gay Scottish sidekick, they were all lovable even Carlton to a lesser degree. Farah was the perfect heroine, strong yet not without flaws.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Sometimes I found the relationship between Farah & Dorian heartbreaking but then one of the other characters would do or say something to make me laugh outright.

Any additional comments?

This is by far my favourite book by this author to date. Each book I have read by Kerrigan has developed beyond its predecessor but this is the icing. Very different from the Druid/Berserker series (which I enjoyed also) but it was perhaps the best Historical Romance I have read so far this year. It hit all the right spots for me. The sex scenes were not steamy so much as romantic, yes even the more dubious ones. Dorian needed to stop flagellating himself and see what was right in front of his tortured soul. Farah, while not perfect, was as close as you could get and yet it did not trigger that gagging reflex that you get sometimes from reading about a character so prefect its sickening.

4 1/2 * A different take.

This isn't the first escort romance I've read but has by far the least amount of angst and I for one welcomed that. It takes real talent to write a story that is both believable and keeps your interest till the end. It was so refreshing to find a H & h that weren't prepared to play along wiyh the BS that others tried on them. Both characters were really likeable without having to gag. Rhett doesn't have to be a bad boy to get the juices flowing he's just drop dead gorgeous and my new BBF. It's always good when you don't notice the narration it just flows effortlessly that for me is the sign of a really good performance. I'm about to start book 2 hope it's as good.

Falling just got even better

What did you love best about You and Everything After?

The strength the characters had for each other but also the fact that they didn't need to be strong in front of the other ( if that makes sense) The book has some pretty smouldering bedroom scenes but instead of taking over the book they just add to the connection these two characters have with each other. So often I end up skipping the sex scenes in books after the initial hook up ( I know it sounds a little crazy, I do enjoy a red hot bedroom scene) mainly because sometimes authors lets that take precedence over the actual story. Not in this case, they were important to the story in creating a loving connection and the characters recognised this fact.

Who was your favorite character and why?

No favourites, loved them all even Paige. It probably sounds strange but some of the biggest reactions I felt were with the parents. Maybe this is because I am a parent of older kids but I really felt for the decisions that they had to make and the fallout because of some of them. I can relate to being the bad guy when it warrants and the repercussions of those decisions to the parent/child relationship. Sometimes the hardest decisions that we make are the ones we know could damage our relationship but its a selfless decision that needs to be made and damn the consequences.

Have you listened to any of Melissa Moran’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I heard her narration of the first book in the series and thought she was brilliant. I've just been on line checking out more from her. Sometimes after listening to an audible book it is wither the story OR the narration that stays with me long after the last words were heard. In this case it was both. I look forward to more collaborations.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My heart broke and repaired itself several times throughout the book.

I can't wait for Paige's story to be released in Audible format. PLEASE make it Whisersync.

I was lost within the words of this book

very well written and loved the narration.
The was so much feeling in this book between the H & h that it could have been really cheesy but through some really good writing and interpretive narration it never got that vibe. I am looking forward to hearing the next one when it is released

Highland Heaven

I could go another of these. I wish Tracy had written more in this genre because she has a talent for it and I would like to listen to more of her highland tales. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of Myles and Fiona to their HEA. The narrator was perfect for this story and her interpretation was flawless as was her ability to change seemlessly between characters. She really brought the characters to life. I look forward to hearing more from her also.

This is the second time I've read this series but the first time on audible. I loved this story and would have really liked to give it 5 stars, the only thing holding me back was the overuse of the description of Stephens eyes. I know it sounds petty but it really dogs detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. I do enjoy the narrator and have listened to several of his interpretations and I will continue to and Katgryn le Veque is still up there with my favourite authors but please I get that his eyes were gorgeous.

I very much enjoyed the narration of this book. The narrator reminded me of Alan Rickmana little. None of the characters were over played particularly impressive was the portrayal of Summers stutter soft and subtle. I will enjoy listening to more from him.
