Spectacular!
Revisado: 12-11-22
Not only is the story marvelous, but the narrator did an amazing job reading the book as it was meant to be read and exactly how it was written.

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Music was distracting and unnecessary
Revisado: 10-01-22
I liked the story and the Narrator did a wonderful job, but the music was awful. The music is played loudly over the Narrator so much that you could barely hear what was being said. If it was indeed BACKGROUND music, it would be better and more effective. In this case, it was like going to a 30-90 second concert, in the mosh pit, trying to wisper to your friend beside you.
Other than that, it was good.

I have always loved Harney and Sons Tea, so naturally I was interested in their story. I adored how they split their episodes up and how inspiring each one of them are. Definitely worth the listen and I look forward to their season 2.

It's about what he has learned as a human being, a man, and an Ojibway in his 52 years on Earth. Whether he's writing about playing baseball, running away with the circus, making bannock, or attending a sacred bundle ceremony, these are stories told in a healing spirit. Through them, Wagamese reveals to listeners how to appreciate life for the journey it is.

Inspiring
Revisado: 12-10-21
This performance was excellent.
I love the way the author explains his journey to find himself, good and awful, by going into little, important details about experiences. Throughout this book, he isn't just explaining his rich history and culture as a Native American, but as a human and how we all are connected, no matter what race. It's truly beautiful.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

A genuine storytelling
Revisado: 12-05-21
I loved this storytelling because of how authentic and genuine it is. Other comments talk about how much cursing there is in this book, but it didn't bother me at all because thats how unscripted conversations go. This was a very easy listen and I couldn't stop until the end.

The Success Experiment

Historia
Lillian Ahenkan's hypothesis: anyone can create a unique formula for their own personal success. The one-size-fits-all approach to 'your best life' is outdated - you can do better. You don't have to be exceptional (or even the exception) to be successful. You just need to learn the algorithm. Through her own success experiment, Lillian transformed herself from a two-time uni drop-out stuck in a career that paid in burnout, into highly sought-after media personality FlexMami. And here she shows that her experience hasn't been a fluke.

MMMmmmmmmm
Revisado: 10-30-21
This book has a 16 year old feel all the way through.
The Narrator/author has some mannerisms that made it difficult for me to continue listening such as "Mmmmmmmmm" .
She explains what you will AND will not read in the oncoming chapter like a high-school 2 page paper that you need to draw out to 5 pages. For example, the first and last hour are absolutely unnecessary. It would be very easy to cut them out all together and the points will still come across nicely.
There are some interesting theories and practices in this book, but they take forever to get to.
I do appreciate her journey and that she felt that it could be beneficial to someone if she shared it to the public.

Not James Patterson's best work
Revisado: 10-29-21
I love MOST of James Patterson's work and broadway/theater shows, but this one isn't for me. Wayyy too much like a soap opera and I didn't care how this performance split up for recaps like commercials. Totally unnecessary.

the music doesn't help
Revisado: 09-03-21
I have enjoyed James Patterson's earlier works but this was not one of my favorites. In this audio presentation, there is music for "thrilling effects" but I think it made the story sound corney like a bad hallmark movie.
