Let Down

Maybe it’s because I was so excited for this due to loving all her other books that I built up my expectation and it fell flat? It felt very obvious what would happen and wasn’t nearly as engaging as her other books. Still not her best is so much better than what other authors put into the world so hopefully the next one won’t disappoint!

Offensive term

Good story about family and love however the author seems unaware that sitting “Indian style” is a really offensive and unnecessary term. Completely took me out of the story especially bc it’s something easily fixed—I guess it didn’t get a sensitivity read?

Great narrator

I loved this story for its examination of every possible point of view there is regarding the female body. At times I did wish the main character wasn't so stuck in her own head but overall this was such a delightful book made even more delicious by the exquisite narration. I'm hooked on Kristen Sieh and will be listening to as many more of her narrations as possible!
