Loved the twists right to the very end!
Revisado: 03-28-23
I know I've read a lot of reviews of Daniel Hurst's books, saying that they are predictable and unrealistic. I was shocked a few times. I love his books. The narration was good to!

When Claire sees Hannah Wilson at an exclusive Manhattan hair salon, it's like a knife slicing through barely healed scars. It may have been 10 years since Claire last saw Hannah, but she has thought of her every day, and not in a good way. So Claire does what anyone would do in her position - she stalks her. Hannah is now Mrs. Carter, living the charmed life that should have been Claire's. It's the life Claire used to have before Hannah came along and took it all away from her.

Fantastically surprised
Revisado: 05-01-22
I almost didn't give this book a chance because of the negative reviews the narration received. I have to agree. The narrator was in and out of voices, many times I had to rewind and listen again because I had no idea who was talking. Claire/Louise should have been narrated by a much younger reader. AND...the voice she gave to Hannah? Her voice sounded like a whiney 8 year old instead of a 30 year old! Once I got used to all of that, I really enjoyed the story. I loved Claire's dark sense of humor!
I will definitely read another book by Natalie Barelli.

Historia
When I arrive unannounced at my husband's studio in need of a shoulder to cry on after hearing that my best student, Alex, has died, I see a pair of wineglasses drying by the sink, and my deepest fear is confirmed: my husband is having an affair. Most women would fall to their knees in tears and throw him out of the house - but I just can't bring myself to do it. Instead, I go home and cook a healthy dinner for our children, walk the dog, and unload the dishwasher without complaint. I need this marriage to work to protect a terrible secret of my own....

I loved the story and all of the twists and turns. It kept my guessing until the end. I thought the narration was very good too. Excellent with the different voices.

I enjoyed the story and loved the narration. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that it took 4 and a half hours to get through the first day! I felt like so much time was given was spent on her first day in the hospital. But overall, I liked the story!

Really enjoyed it
Revisado: 03-30-22
I really liked this story! I was surprised when I read the reviews....but I do agree, the narrator did NOT perform men voices very well. They were all the same, that low Sean Penn voice from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I really loved her performance of Iris, however, she went in and out of her southern accent so 90% of the time she did not have it, only when it made reference to it in the story. Overall, I liked the book and was glad I listened to the end, even though it wasn't the ending I would have preferred.

Historia
"A Rose for Her Grave" - the principal story of this collection - vividly recreates the cautionary tale of Randy Roth, a misogynistic sociopath from the Pacific Northwest whose rage was directed primarily at women and children. Addicted to his own greed, Roth exercised a powerful aura of control over his victims, using his ability to charm and boyish good looks to lower their defenses. By the time they saw the reality of the madness in his eyes, it was usually too late.

Fantastic Story
Revisado: 06-03-21
I love Ann Rule books. I really like that she is able to give the facts without so much gory details yet we can still clearly visualize what she writes. I also like that there's not an abundance of profanity. The narrator was so easy to listen to. However, she doesn't do male voices very well but if you can get over that, she's a wonderful narrator.

Repetitive
Revisado: 09-27-19
Absolutely loved the narration, She used different voices and accents! The story line was very good and had my attention but so much repetition. I don’t have to be told 20 times that when she returned from her vacation that there were dirty dishes In the kitchen and ants all over! Overall, it was good,

I’ve listened to all of the Dd. Warren series by Lisa Gardner. I’ve loved them. But this one was really hard to get into to. Too many characters and none of them were likable. I was so let down.

Revisado: 02-06-19
I wasn’t sure if I really liked the reader of this book but the more I listened, the better it got. The story line was easy to follow, none of this back and forth stuff! I liked that it started right up with the capturing Gacy and stuck with it. It wasn’t until the latter part of the book where there were some flashbacks. Loved the story l, well written and great performance!
