I thought this book was going to be a romance. It was a book about finding out who you are and being proud of that. It is a book about forging your own path and not your family's plan.

I really liked the story. It makes you feel the fear and sadness of the characters. I loved the performance of the narrator of the book. The main characters are strong, but sympathetic. It draws you in quickly and keeps you hooked until the end.

I love Kate McKinnon. She is a riot in this story. I love the friendship in this book. I loved the story. I love the commercials in it. I like the two sisters between the episodes. I find enjoyable, funny, answer intelligent.

I really liked this book. I felt I was there with Gerda with her life. How she struggles. I feel that it has more aspects to the story than the discrimination of the Germans in Nebraska. I felt the author was very detailed with her descriptions and fleshed out the characters well. The author read it, but at some points I feel she could of show my emotions with certain scenes in the book. Overall very enjoyable book.
