Great insight into Abe’s conversion

For those of you that love this series. Yes it’s a short book but I believe this is one of the best in the series. This book brought him into focus and made him a much more important character, and a much more sympathetic character. I really enjoyed this book.

I listened to all the Arisen books but did not know about this gem. Of course RC Bray is the best narrator going at audible. And I really enjoyed the series, but I felt this was by far the best. Mostly because of the character development.

Man went out with a wimper..they forgot about Dan.

Would you listen to After It Happened again? Why?
It slowly captivated my imagination. Plus a cast of characters who were not hero's in their own right who were called upon to do heroic things.
What was one of the most memorable moments of After It Happened?
Dan instructing his new "rangers" in tactical training that played out on the impromptu fields of battle. Also, finding Ash, near death from starving.
What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
R.C. Bray sets the tone just right. His characters may say something cheeky, but he can soften the blow if it wasn't meant to offend. Dan has a great voice, and drips leadership, although he has his moments.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is a book that makes me look forward to my 45 minute drive to and from work.

Would you consider the audio edition of After It Happened to be better than the print version?
Didn't read the print version, as I have a long commute, the point was for audiobooks.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Dan, by far. He has traits similar to all of us, but the discipline to hone his skills, and uncanny ability to know what is right to do at a given time.
Have you listened to any of R.C. Bray’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
R.C. Bray is the best narrator for action books, period. Mountain man and Arisen come to mind.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Dan's relationship with the 13 yo girl, that has become more that a typical father /daughter relationship. Everything is more immediate and pressing among survivors of mans terminal event. They have each other, and it shows.

Interesting concept, poor final product

I wanted to like this book but I can't get past the representation that everyone from 1942 is a vicious, hateful racist and sexist. I'm sure there were plenty who were, but it gets in the way of the interesting concept of "what if?". Every single character from 1942 is predictably militantly and violently bigoted.
